I've been around a few EE Shops looking for the Orange San Diego for £69.99 and have noticed the Motorola Razr I for only £149.99 + £10 mandatory top-up.

I managed to get the SanDiego from Rotherham but Meadowhall & Doncaster (possibly Rotherham) had the Razi on display. I don't know if any of the shops had stock but I confirmed the price with the sales assistant at Meadowhall, even though the price tag in store was £299!

So some EE shops will have stock but you may have to search for it (it took me 4 shops to find the San Diego).

Online (http://shop.orange.co.uk/mobile-phones/motorola-razr-i) the Motorola is still £299 and similar prices elsewhere online.

Can anyone else confirm this deal ? Is it national ?

interesting ! lets see how this deal gets on
- hot or cold
- innocent till proven guilty

probably hot

Excellent phone. Probably the best you can get without going supersize.

I wouldn't buy an Intel based phone right now if you ever plan on rooting and installing custom ROM's like Cyanogenmod - too early, doubt there'll be much support by forums like XDA etc. where the bulk of phones have ARM processors. Still, excellent phone.

great price if true and brilliant phone

heat, nice build and size, battery is spossed to be the best life

Hope this is true I wanna swap my Xperia T for this.

Saw this deal in glasgow ee shop, its the real deal

Is it better than Lumia 920 that I may look to buy tomorrow if I can manage to find some time!

Daughter has this phone and it's a cracking phone. She's dropped it more times than I care to mention and although it now has a few scratches on it, it's still working perfect.

Battery life is pretty good and it's a nippy device.

Heat added

One issue is that the first time you plug it in to any PC, you have to install Motorola's crummy software, to move data to and fro. So if you use a lot of different PCs this could get annoying.

Looks the business, and very hot deal at this price (if you can find it?)

Time to visit ee shop and scrap my vivacity

First phone I am entirely happy with. Amazing build quality, superb battery life and the size is just right. Hot!

Just install a samba or ftp server app

EE seem to be doing a new deal every few days at the moment.

This is a very interesting phone, same / similar (?) intel processor to the San Diego which I saw reduced a few days ago... I like the build, etc.

I nearly got one, but went for the Nokia 920 yesterday for £250

A

I was into san diego but now don't know.. Had Monte Carlo from argos but it was faulty, then vivacity but it's just too small for fingers. I'm on my way!

I bought one very recently for more than this (as a present for my mum), and think it is a fantastic phone. Very fast and has a gorgeous screen, nice and vibrant. I said in another post about the camera being a bit average - now I have spent a bit more time with it the pics (in good light) aren't half as bad as I thought they were.

Complete bargain.

If you want, I can send you some pics from the camera, but will have to wait until tonight.

These phones are fantastic..

Edit: so is the camera.
Edit: so is the speed.
Edit: so is the battery life.
Edit: want me to continue?

OKAY I had this phone for 6 months and sold it two days ago for 170 which i was lucky

Where should I start?

Battery: Crap 1 day use no more.
Speed: 2GHZ Rubbish Intel processor is super slow
Build quality: Very nice looking small phone really liked it for the look
Camera: absolute crap recorded video for 5min in 1080 could not process video as processor slow tooks like an hour to process.

Overall: Price is good 169 is bargain.

if you can get this then its a good deal

i for one from now on am only gonna stick with online deals that can be purchased asap

with the san diego deal i pretty much wasted a whole day - looking at reviews, going into two different town centres, getting change for parking, finding a parking space, paying for parking, finding the stores, impulse buying from other stores just because i was in town, having my kid crying cos they were tired, and then being told the store did not have any in stock!

(yes i did call up the stores numerous times before embarking but got no answer )

anyway a whole day wasted £10 in trip costs, £20 of impulse purchases and £priceless in hassle/agro

wont bother with offline deals again - more hassle than they are worth

Kypok you must have had a faulty handset I've tried it in shops and its lighting fast you are the first person I've heard complaining about it

I'm currently on giffgaff payg... Will this be sim-locked?

I have had one for a few months and after the last JB update I had battery issues. I did a search on the net and after a reinstall of the update from the SD card it began to behave. Battery life is now excellent again.

Got to disagree with you about the processor. I find it fast.

Camera is not brilliant but I have never relied on a camera to take photos.

You carry around paper and paint? Or have a servant to take them?

No speculatrix i assume bigman uses a camera to take photos. I know it might be too complicated for you but phones aren't the only devices that can take photos.

Got one in Hammersmith store. said they had loads and can confirm price. Seems really nice

I must admit, I do tend to rely on a camera to take photos

Can someone put a receipt for proof most appreciated.

Dammit I am really after this phone, been trying to get one off ebay for under £180 (new) so this would be awesome but can't get to a store for a few days by which point I am sure they will have sold out!

Great deal if you can get it and if it is unlocked.

I can confirm it is this price as I now have one , can receipt if you nay Sayers don't trust me (_;)

Not a bad price for the nice looks and resilience of moto hardware - I was nearly tempted then I remembered my hate for MOTOBLUR and the lack of updates...so in the (not so) long run this is a false economy:

1) Officially it won't be ever upgraded beyond Jellybean
2) Unofficially, well, the Intel Medfield architecture seems daunting...and the most stable rom project ( forum.xda-developers.com/sho…512 ) seems to be no longer supported.

For the extra hours you'd spend on XDA forums to remove Blur services and Motorola stuff for better memory consumption, less background services and better battery life...and risk having your phone crash during a important call...you'd be better off paying £40 more for a "as new" Galaxy S3 on Amazon. Yeah, flimsier hardware

I have this phone and cannot relate to any of your dislikes. The processor is very fast, i've never had it struggle with a game, apart from vector (there is an incompatibility issue).

The phone is single core but the only time it struggles at all is when it's installing an app, it can go sluggish for a few seconds.

I get a genuine 2 days battery out of mine, it has an amazing battery life, I thought my HTC Sensation was good but this phone is amazing.

I hear people complaining about the camera alot in reviews etc. The only issue I have is it can stutter after the first second or so when recording. The only other minor thing is it's slightly over saturated. Apart from that it's a great camera - auto HDR detection, time lapse function, 1080p recording, dedicated camera button with lighting fast boot time to name a few points.

Some other positive points - great sound quality in calls and playing music / very small, thin well made phone, nice bright screen.

Some issues are the metal bezel that runs around the outside of the screen scratches quite easily. It does not had HDMI out, i miss being able to plug a HDMI lead in and watch films on my telly.

I should say that I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted my phone. It's running a standard version of the UK software but then has a MOD called infiniROM V6 installed over the top really nice way of installing the MOD in my opinion.

This is the link to XDA

Cyanogen is being worked on for this phone but there have been issues for a long time so not sure what will happen. Personally I dont care, I have toggles in the notification area, LMTpie running allowing me to have a full screen and everything else works great.

At this price it's a great buy!
