The going price on ebay for a new one is between £50 and £70 on buy it now

buy mine for £5 and it's been moded by myself with a video camera and loads of space, but it's still shiat!

not worth it, carphonewarhouse was selling 2 of these for under £49.99 last time around!

Would the Virgin V3 work with a T-Mobile SIM out of the box or would it need unlocking? Sorry, I'm not fully clued up when it comes to mobile phones

Virgin sims usualy work in a Tmobile phone but usualy not the other way round. wierd I know but there is a reason,

If you put a virgin sim in a t mobile phone, tmobile still make money on the calls as it runs through their network, but put a t mobile sim in a virgin phone and Virgin wont make money from the calls so they lock their phones to all sims inc t mobile.

Thanks!

I have several Virgin handsets & they all accept T-Mobile sims, but the market is constantly changing. I last purchased a Virgin hand set some six months ago & that was fine with a T-Mobile sim

I had this phone and got rid within a week texting was nightmare imho

Though at this price im sure good value for kids phone, their wee fingers have no probs texting!

Had one. Got rid of it in a week. Looks good, but has the worst user interface I have ever seen

Utter, utter rubbish.

Texting is terrible.
It can only scroll two or three items in your phone book each second meaning it take ages to get to the bottom of your contact list!
Skinning is rubbish.
Games are terrible.
And I never got any further because I ebayed it within a week.

Really, this truely is an aweful phone.
Get a cheap Nokia, Sony Ericsson or simply stick to public telephones.

and dont plan on keeping any messages or pictures on it, the memories on power with a goldfish....stores 10 texts then thats it full....and i think that was including sent texts!

No they are not selling. I have only seen one go for 50. The rest around 30.

Sorry yahpoops , I disagree.
For someone like me who only wants to phone and text it is great. I have had mine for nearly 2 years and still love the design. At the moment I have 43 messqages in my inbox and 31 in outbox.
Yes it is a bit slow and yes, the memory size is small, but I still love being able to just slip it in my pocket without making a big bulge.

acutely the phone is quite heavy for a "slim" model.

the only thing i liked about this phone was the fact that i was able to hack it and add so much more things to it that Motorola Kept hidden using HEX codes and so on! it's a cool phone to work your magic on! but i wouldn't keep one in m pocket at all times, maybe when both my phones are low battery then i will take it, otherwise it's in my drawer 99% of the time.

Then again i have a Samsung U600 & Sony Ericsson K810i...

But honestly, i still prefer to use my Classic Nokia 8890 rather then this shiat.

I think what we are seeing here is a classic case of NOKIA vs Motorola camp. I have owned/used SONY/NOKIA/SAMSUNG/MOTOROLA phones and currently own a V3i.

You tend to find that many people like the Nokia interface, I personally hate it. If I give my V3i to a Nokia user they cannot use the phone, however having owned 4 motorolas I will admit their interface is a little quirky but it works and the phones certainly are better built than the plasticy Nokias.

For the record the best interface ever was on my sony CMD-Z5, it actually felt like someone tested the interface and thought about how a phone is used.

Give the Motorola V3 a break it is a good phone and has more style than any Nokia (unless you wear Burberry and drink White Lightening before noon :giggle: )

Amen to all of that .
I think you've summed it up very well.

Paul.

well said Baz, I used the v3 for ages & its a nice n slim phone ....for a bloke.

You're spot on about the Sony z5 too
