Awesome package for a first timer. You don't want to spend a lot trying it out.
Fab deal just picked one up for my daughters school ski trip. thanks for the post!
Has anybody used this brand for skiwear before? Is it any good?

Mountain Warehouse are a bit like Sports Direct - all items are 50% off. Their basic ski stuff will be fine for beginners....Aldi or Lidl will probably be doing their ski stuff soon, so that is another option.

It is (in the main, complete tat, ..folk equate cheap to ok for beginners? ..no actually that is like saying my 5 yr old is only a kid so can wear her jeans on the slope & some wellies banged with nails onto planks ripped from a fence.

The stuff is crud, dreampt up rrp's for all its own brand gubbins.
When you get to know a bit about material types, stitching & technical performance you will in all likelihood stay away from this brand which could burn through your time & energy giving you a really bad return on an expensive holiday.

That doesn't mean you have to pay through the nose.. but you do want zippers to work, stitches to hold, waterproofing to keep you dry, materials to breathe etc.

Anyone can make up an "rrp".

Look for bonfire ski jackets & boarding / ski trousers on ebay, some real deals to be had for stuff you can re-sell if you don't want it for harsh uk winters etc.

Resell value of "mountain warehouse" ..nowt, unless folk are a bit "touched"

I'd prefer to give some Aldi & lidl stuff a go, i've sen plenty of that stuff time & time again on the slopes.

If you are going to spend though, always try to look for the added reliability of a YKK zip within the clothing, it often speaks mounds as to how the kit is likely to fare down the line.
(anyone who cannot do up a jacket or trouser fly on the ski slopes soon looses it as their core temp deserts them) ..i've had to patch up folks crotches with gaffer tap & safety pins, hilarious for bystanders, ..not fun for the recipient, not fun for me because the bloke is obviously not taking his trousers off, & you've got to "get close" under the circumstances to make sure it adheres & stays in-situ) oO

regatta outlet has a dare2b section.
I used to like outdoor clearance - no longer exist, but you could buy dare2b salopettes for £2-3!
same for baselayers, bought a dare2b ski jacket for £10
A minimum waterproofing rating & breathability over 24hrs for new kit should be 10,000 for a jacket, 8,000 for ski trousers, euro snow is often wetter than elsewhere, seasonality, world weather factors, downjackets different again.

Go for fleeces that use POLARTEC (not something saying it's polar fleece, the difference is the to be seen).
Crag hoppers, Tog 24, both cheap & useful using ok - good materials I wouldn't sniff at!
Ebay, Bonfire, (well proven & loved) got a decent 20k / 15k jacket new with tags for less than £20, saw another go for £3.75 new! ..hit & miss, but plenty of kit being listed.

Typically I find learners need BETTER kit, hardier gloves, Jacket & trousers because they are exposed to falls more frequently & therefore cold contact with ground & wet snow, with plenty of time sittign on their butts.. all that takes energy, if cold saps it for a beginner, not good, at least an intermediate thruexpert can move to stay warmer & dry(er). ..so can put up with a mix of good & tat.
