I’d avoid this the plastic body won’t stand up to much, catch a small brick in the blades underneath and it’s likely to go straight through the body.
Any good for my pubes?
I'd go for a used one at this price. I recently got a Mountfield with rear roller and 160cc Honda motor, 21 inch cut for less than this on ebay and its fantastic.

If your lucky enough to get one if your local store,

If not then this,Yes it’s a bit more money but comes with a steel deck that will withstand a hell of a lot more than a plastic one will, check the reviews of the plastic deck ones, they are cheaper because they are cheaper to make but that doesn’t make it better for the consumer when after a few uses the deck splits or a small brick gets fired through it from the blades, which wouldn’t be covered under warrant so you’d be left looking to buy another mower.

On the other hand, they won't rust and fall to pieces like steel decks. I suppose it's down to the type of plastic used to how tough they are. The Mountfield engine puts me off however, had nothing but trouble with them in the past, much better off with a Briggs or Honda.

For this price please show me a better lawnmower. I am not looking to spend more than £140.

For anyone happy to tinker, a used Mountfield is a better bet - they have either Honda or Briggs & Stratton engines which are very easy to fix/maintain. I inherited a broken one, watched a couple YouTube how-tos and spent £5 on parts on ebay to get it running good as new.
If you're the type that throws things out if they stop working, then this is a good price for a decent mower.

It's the engine that you're paying for, or not.

These are just generic Chinese engines which will be OK for a while if looked after. They tend to develop mystery carburettor issues.

Posher mowers will have Briggs or Honda engines which are more readily serviced and have higher resale value.

Avoid leaving petrol in your mower for months on end (particularly over winter), change the oil and clean the air filter annually and you'll probably get good service out of even these cheapo mowers.

No-one seems to be able to answer this. So why don't you give it a try and let us know the results?
Yeah I'm sold on cheap mowers. When bits break you can usually get spares on eBay. The problem with an expensive one is the service costs. You may as well buy a cheapo and use it till it dies.

Yes, it's great on pubes, you won't find anything that gives a closer cut, easy to use and a joy to behold.

+1 on this. This mower has survived my lawns over the last two years flawlessly, with no service or replacement parts needed.

Its actually very tough polypropylene. Your best not mowing small bricks, don't do much good to your blades!
This is one of Mountfields bestselling mowers...a great buy for smaller lawns.

Have to say I've found the opposite - get some cheapo unbranded engine and it's virtually imporssible to find parts, buy something with a Briggs & Stratton engine and you can get all the parts you need for an annual service for £5 off ebay.

What about this one 125cc 40cm and Briggs and Stratton engine for £138

The Mountfield one will be much better built than that one, and you will be able to get spare parts if you ever need them.

The 100cc Mountfield engine is really good, very reliable and easy to start. Just make sure you don't leave any fuel in it over winter because of stale fuel issues.
