I guess technically this might not be possible; but just use an online radio player ( like tunein )on your pc instead for free.
Got a cheap one from one of the China sites cost just over a fiver. Perfect for my TV and headphones with no audio delay.
Will it work with my old IPod desperately want to make it broadcast to my Bluetooth Yamaha soundbar

Have a look through the questions that have been posted on the Amazon website (at the top where it says 113 answered questions). That's what I did. I'm definitely no expert, but the reason I bought it was because it transmits and receives.
Great for using on airplanes instead of their horrible plastics earphones.

APTX-Low Latency? I've been hunting for cheaper versions but can't find anything reliable under £20 that is low latency when using it as a receiver. Plenty cheapies that work as low latency transmitter...
This seems good and I like Mpow products. However if you use it in the house, does not make sense to get a Chromecast audio? It's pretty much the same price and you get more for your money IMO.

For the price, it does what I want and I'm not sure the Chromecast audio would? My tv is not a smart tv, so the new device is so that I can use blutooth airpods (good quality aftermarket airpods!) and be able to hear my tv more clearly.

True, but a chromecast uses wifi, not bluetooth, so is better quality. However, this does the job, my comment was the Chromecast is a better product for the same money. Quite difficult to find anyway. Nothing wrong with this.

Maybe a daft question but how can I get this or something similar to pair with a JBL studio soundbar? I have a projector and want to use this for audio via the headphone jack

Bought it for a transmitter and works fine. Also it's a receiver but never tried that. Bought from Banggood.

Yeah I get that with something capable of scanning and letting you select a bluetooth device but how would this with no screen connect to a bluetooth soundbar ?
Can you pair two headsets to the transmitter? During this lockdown, my wife and I have had to watch Netflix at half volume....not as enjoyable as blasting surround sound around for action thrillers. . Would be great to pair with our my Sony's and my wife with her AirPods.

You place it into pairing mode then same with your headphones or soundbar.

So if two devices are in pairing mode in the same locality then they will just connect ? I've been struggling to get this working hence the question, thanks

Yup, once they find each other you would press the pairing button on your soundbar again to 'confirm' the connection.

I bought one of these off ebay for £5 with the intention of using it in the summer house during the good weather, your post made me look it out the drawer and take the soundbar up to the wee hoose to try it.

Connected this to a DAB radio in transmit mode, switched on the soundbar [LG] on Bluetooth pairing mode, the soundbar auto found and connected to this without me doing any further pressing of buttons or chitt. Excellent.

Just for giggles i switched everything back off then on again to see if it would auto pair and connect, performed as expected.

Very much appreciated, fingers crossed this means I can get rid of the ten metre cable draped over the ceiling currently.
