These two, and the Mr Jones range in general, are a bit niche, quirky and at Black Friday prices!

I was reading a Watchuseek thread asking about Automatics that have a digit function, this brand was mentioned.

Not quite digital, but a quirky design - maybe - for a watch-lover who likes a bit of Poker and kitsch. Unisex options, and you can even couple up for your Queen (or King).

The minutes are displayed in 10 minute intervals, you can read them by checking the playing cards.
As time passes, the cards rise above the King's shoulder and disappear behind his head.
The hours are shown in the royal breast, the number flips exactly on the 59>00 minute transition.

The Mr Jones Watches' blurb for the King automatic watch:

Make a statement with a powerful automatic watch.

The King watch was built in London and is one half of a pair of royal watches: King and Queen.

These couples watches are based on the classic playing card characters of the King and Queen of Hearts.

The Design
The use of the playing cards symbolises the changing nature of fortune.
Lucky streaks, while always welcome, are only as short lived as those runs of bad luck.

The watch is a gentle reminder to keep your cards close to your chest, but to be bold and go all-in when fate has dealt you a winning hand!

A typically British design, made by us here in London. Each colour of the design was printed individually and the watch was assembled by hand.

Automatic, mechanical watch movement
A watch for life. The King watch doesn’t have a battery. Instead, the motion of wearing your watch provides all the power needed to wind it up and keep it running.

This watch is medium (unisex) size, however, King is also available in a larger XL (mens) size.

Watchreview - reads more like an advertisement! - says they are a Limited Edition of 100 pieces each (2015 article, so may be out of date) wristwatchreview.com/201…en/

Not the greatest Youtube review, but you can see the King watch close-up here:

Think I've quoted the dial size wrong, it says
"Width (3 o'clock to 9 o'clock): 37mm
Height (from lug to lug): 46mm"

From looking around at the rest of their range, nothing else really speaks to me, except those two, but we're all different!

Not something Id wear but I like the originality even if it is a bit complicated to read. Also doesnt look like a 37mm in the pics

There's an King XL version (OOS) which suggests the ordinary Queen and King offerings are smaller than average, but the info supplied doesn't make it that clear.

King XL specs say,
"Width (3 o’clock to 9 o’clock): 45mm
Height (from lug to lug): 53mm"

Edit: It does say 45mm case in the King XL description, so the Width (3 o'clock to 9 o'clock) measurement stated must be the dial size.

ablogtowatch has a more in-depth review of the King XL (Larger, of course - Miyota 9015 movement, Sapphire Crystal, and other slight differences) here

I love Mr Jones watches!
I thought boyf would love this as he's big on Poker, but he says, "it looks like it came out a lucky bag". Hmph
The fun of novelty watches can wear off very fast .. ..
