Thanks for the heads up traythegreat! Might have to try the Jalfrezi based on your recommendation
Think I'd prefer to pay a couple of quid more and get the genuine article delivered (as I just have from Cafe Spice, 6 courser shared with the wife, and it's was fab)

Oh I envy you that. We can't get anything delivered where we live, apart from the mail via the Post Office #
So thanks OP for the heads up, I will be scheduling a visit to M&S. Their indian meals are rather delish!
Thanks OP, will check it out. Love curry
Never had M&S curry but that looks amazing! Great spot, many thanks!

I wonder if you'd so enthusiastic if you knew what went on behind the scenes though?
Most takeaways are using huge quantities of salt, and also chilli to flavour the food, and the hygiene standards are not always what you might want them to be.
Why do you think you never see any ethnic people there?

Sounds like your average English restaurant, minus the chilli.
Do they serve Halal as well !
Hot from me. Their curries are pretty good!

The places I get them from, one an ex-chip shop in Walker, and the other a more upmarket restaurant in Heaton area of Newcastle are enough for two and the quality is high and delivered in 30-45 mins
Gorgeous
What is the average saving on this deal...around a fiver?

In what sense is it dirty meat?
OP if you tried the Charlie Bigham's Jalfrezi you'd not bother recommending the M&S one again

How's M&S compare? They're our favorite store bought curries albeit abit pricey.
Best ready meal selection for vegetarians I have seen. Only one main but the sides are excellent and more than compensate.

You couldn't just make it 100% positive could you! Typical veggie!
No naan bread?
"Best supermarket curry" is an oxymoron. That is all.

In my personal opinion all supermarket ready made Indian meals are much of a muchness, I feel cheap n dirty saying it but some of the stuff you can pick off the takeaway deli counter thing in Asda might have a slight edge, and then there's Bighams head and shoulders above everything.

Unfortunately he only does Jalfrezi, Korma and Masala of which the Jalfrezi is as close as you'll get to restaurant/takeaway standard. Admittedly none of them are cheap but quality costs, you can add the Masala on to your 'My Waitrose' and get 20% off each time you buy it and for a Masala it has got a bit of a kick to it but the Jalfrezi is a different gravy no pun intended

Lol what a stupid comment.

Do chinese people order chinese? How about italians ordering pizza.
Good deal. Thanks.
Indian restaurant curry is knocked up from a veg base and I'm often dissatisfied with them in my area except for one or two maybe.
Tesco has a new range and the Madras is pucker and lots of it for £3.50!
So I'll give the m&s a go as there's more flavour and ingredients in my opinion from a good shop bought curry.

Thats odd. Theres normally, even if you're out in the wilds, a nearby Indian take away who will deliver. Not just in the bigger cities. Newcastle is better served in that respect than most, I HAVE noticed, true.
I - literally - have too many takeaways who deliver than I can count locally. Countless Indian and Chinese, and the schawarma & Turkish and Lebanese takeaways, Thai takeaways and so on.
