:giggle:

I'm a recent convert to M&S meat, if you buy their offers it works out as great value as it all gets eaten not chucked away due to lack of taste/chewiness. :-D

Meat is murder if you don't need to eat to survive. By being so selfish in satisfying your bloody tastebuds you are helping to destroy your one and only home-Earth.

Great price for great tasting meat........Hot

Might be a good offer but if you try your local farm or butcher you'll find much much better quality meats and cheaper prices. I recently started buying fresh meat from a local farm and its amazing quality and seriously cheaper than the processed supermarket stuff.

Well Lamb leg is £3.99 / kilo at Tesco so thats a 50% saving. So even allowing for you throwing 33% of the Tesco joint away (am amazed that M&S have managed to source lamb with no fat btw :w00t:) you are still quids in

Every little helps

Any decent butcher knows how to store meat. And it is not in plastic.

What's wrong with plastic? Its one of the major innovations in the past century. It helps to keep meat fresher than if it was wrapped in brown paper.

Environmentalist really need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture and not just concentrate on petty microscopic arguments.

'Hidden' fat if you are referring to the marbled effect you see is one of the best things about a good joint

lol I suspect you know nothing about meat. You would squirm at stuff that has been hung for any length of time with no refrigeration, but go to any quality restaurant and that is what you will most likely receive. Can I ask what cut this is and what cut you think is best as a roast?
Also do M&S let their meat mature at all?

Not voting as not sure what we are paying for here?

This is not an environmental argument, it is a taste one. Meat that has been butchered and sat in its own blood for days (which happens when it is packed in plastic or indeed any other packaging) is not as tasty as meat that has been hung properly. There is nothing wrong with plastic as such, I use plastic boxes all the time to cure my own bacon and hams. It is what happens when it is sealed off that is the problem.

Hmmm... thought this site was to vote about how good a deal the offer is, not to push your views on someone.
However, as it's Christmas, and in the spirit of giving back, I suggest you turn off your computer in order to save some electricity and do your part for the environment, and then donate your computer to a homeless charity. :santa:

It's from Saturday.
And I agree that eating meat is environmentally unfriendly, but then a great many things we take for granted are, nay worse, such as short haul flights.
