How do you know it was reduced from £10?

Original Poster

was on mse forum

Not reduced from £10, it has always been this price (bought last year and another a couple of months ago), good price though.

Thanks babymanor, good price and just what I need

anyone got the free delivery code ?

I am certain that these have always been £2.50. They are part of their Value/Basics range of kitchen equipment. They regularly do 20% off events which brings it down to £2.00.

This was not ever £9.50 - the £9.50one is still £9.50. Click Here

Looks as if someone has misinterpreted the MSE deal thread - nowhwere on there does it ever say it was £9.50.

Heres the link to the MSE thread.

MSE M&S Roasting tin thread

If your buy this you may end up with a lower quality product than you may have been led to expect.

Not saying its not a decent price but it is the price it is supposed to be - i.e. no reduction.

cheap thin tin just like the ones in poundland

Free Delivery code is PERWEB02

millarcat - How is it a good price? If its the normal price I don't see how it is a 'deal', and the title is misleading. Bit disappointing to see a mod heap praise on such a non-deal when two people had already pointed out the title is wrong...

sell these in asda for £1.50

I bought one of these before they were reduced and are very good!

Hmm. Still don't really agree with the updated title. "Now £2.50" still implies it was previously a different price, and still implies it was a deal.

With no evidence to suggest it was ever any more expensive and anecdotal evidence hinting it has previously been cheaper (#3) I really can see how this qualifies as being a 'deal' and how it warrants the heat it has; its the standard price..

Is it fair game for people to simply look at the price of any item in any store, post it as a deal with a misleading title, then get the heat? Seems daft to me.

if its not for you fine what you getting all aggressive about if you feel that strong have a word with martin on mse

I'm not getting aggressive, and don't take it personally, I just think its unfair that a 'deal' reaches the front-page [and denies another deal from the opportunity to do so] on the basis of a misleading title..

I am sure you didn't mean to mislead, but I'm also sure that some people will have voted hot on the basis of an M&S product being reduced by 75%, in the knowledge that M&S prices, whilst not generally cheap, and usually not unrealistically high to begin with. I'm not saying its bad value either, its probably a good roaster for £2.50, but I'm sure its also nowhere near as good as the £9.50 one...

(And what has Martin/MSE got to do with it - they never said it was a tenner...?)

Just because someone at MSE has got it wrong doesnt mean we have to follow.

As has been pointed out there is another dish that is £9.50 and it still is £9.50 - thats where the confusion at MSE has happened.

A deal like this would be for me as I actually do need some new ovenwear bits & bobs & if this was 75% off I would jump at it.... but its not.

I'm sure no-one wants to appear as being aggressive but we are simply pointing out the facts i.e. this tray has not been reduced in price.

By the way babymanor - thanks for your deal for boots @ Amazon - Got me in the good books with her indoors.
