Found this deal thanks to haq's post (http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/568319/marks-spencer-additional-30-off-on-) the M&S Wi-Fi Radio MX-200 is listed at £89 but for some reason they knock off 50% when you put into basket (-£44.50) making the item £46.10 delivered - seems like a good price for a Wi-Fi radio, cant find any cheaper myself. 5% quidco too.

A good alternative to the squeezebox radio which is at least twice the price

Am so slow when it comes to technology nowadays...............what on earth is a wifi radio:oops:

Basically connects to your wifi router and hence can connect to internet radio stations and play music stored on your pc.
It's the latest tech advance from DAB radio.

Can't find any info on the battery anywhere, someone on here must have one.

Incidentally, don't go for the Revo Blik or Radiostation as neither have battery despite the Revo flyer saying to the contrary.

Don't think it does.
Ebuyer sold a very similar product for around the £46 mark last year.
I've found the manufacturers website and the ebuyer model. If someone wants to research a little further, the website is kchampion.com/en/…g19

thats the big problem with most of these things for me - look ideal for bathrooms but need a power supply....

I think this radio seems better - looks like full stereo and all the wifi functionality too. Still mains powered though and maybe not as good looking as the other one. Only £39.50 in store though. I reserved one.

M & S Combination DAB Digital Radio:

Pretty sure this unit does not have an option for internal batteries. Not sure if the M&S badged version has the usual remote that ships with MX-200's but if it does, the remote is rubbish ;).

Considering the eBuyer version of this unit has long since sold out it's a pretty decent price.
It's not a perfect unit (firmware issues that can be sorted with 'unofficial' upgrades but its a fairly solid Reciva based radio.

Stick with Logitech squeezeboxes.

Thanks for the help guys and galls.

Thanks but "8000 radio stations"and "24 station presets (8 DAB / 8 FM / 8 internet)". Makes me mad that does....

Interesting thread and products...

Does anyone know what software/Ip radio unit the "M&S Combination DAB Digital Radio" is based on?

That one (this ]M&S Combination DAB Digital Radio not the one in this thread) is a re-badged MagicBox Clarus Plus that uses the Frontier Silicon chipset/software. The Frontier Silicon stuff tends to lag behind the Reciva stuff in terms of overall stability and features IMHO.

Thanks for the info. I bought the Combination DAB one anyway - it came to £37 instore. Reviews on Amazon (if you place much stock in them!) for the MagicBox are very favourable.

I have to say the MX200 looks quite a bit smaller and neater though.

sorry - got my wifi radios in a tangle - wrong thread.

nice deal!

anyone know which qualifying items have to be added to your basket to get it at this price ?

looks very much like this one

ebuyer.com/cat…dio

appears to be sold out but you can read the reviews

I have the ebuyer one in black in kitchen hooked up to Creative T20 speakers and I like it.

OK, so let's have a definitive answer then, which is better? The M&S Combination unit or the M&S MX 200?

Id say this is better for the power user, or if you dont have WIFI and doesnt need another FM/DAB radio.
The M&S Combination is good for an all in one unit for casual use becuase the interface isnt as nice as the MX200 from what Ive read. Both have audio out, so can be redirected to a stero. This also makes a nice kitchen radio.

The Ebuyer one (which is effectively the same unit) was my best buy of last year, along with network plugs.

Never in for Radcliffe and Maconie, so listen to the entire week while cooking on a weekend.

Really fantastic and BBC radio is the only justification I need for paying the license fee.

Not really a deal as I bought one from ebuyer in 2008 for £50

I used to own one of these, in white, also from M&S. Bought it at a reduced price from M&S Meadows Camberley. I also own the 'original' Acoustic Research wifi radio, and the Pure Avanti Flow.

This radio is mains-powered only, via a wallwart power supply. It operates via the Reciva web-radio portal, which offers a vast array of stations and fairly easy navigation. Yes, it is mono. It also has a more limited 2-line display, compared to other Reciva models, such as the aforementioned AR and the Logik IR100.

If your looking to stream audio from your pc or server, the sound quality isn't good enough. However, if you're after speech-based radio and very easy access to all the BBC's listen again content (iPlayer for radio basically) then this unit will do the job well enough. However, I did find the wi-fi less sensitive than my other units, so beware if u plan on locating this more than one room, or two walls away from your wifi router.

At 89.99 it was grossly overpriced. At this price, much more realistic, and worth it for the radio function. There is a headphone jack on the back so a feed to speakers is possible, although it won't be at line-level.

I can answer more questions if needed, currently typing on a BB on the train and getting those pitying looks again...

If this wonderful resource page doesn't answer all questions, you're not asking the right questions.

I've used the magicbox one. If the M&S-rebadged one were still in stock at that price, I'd have bought one - nice bit of kit, stereo, with loud alarm. It is ugly, though.

This is the deal info here: hotukdeals.com/ite…-m-

And it is instock in some stores, you just cant place an order for warehouse stock to be delivered direct to any stores (asd the warehouse stock is now 0!)

WIFI radio is a very underated tech, I have the ebuyer one and a Bush one I picked up from a deal on her a while back for £17.

Both are great would recomend this if you like radio but can't timetable your life to match the programming or don't want your PC on the whole time when listening online.

You can still get the pink version cheaper at ebuyer at £37.99:

ebuyer.com/pro…636

The radio has very good sound for the size but the remote is useless. I've had the white version for about 2 years now and the front buttons are becoming unresponsive. Otherwise I'm very pleased with it.

Not sure I'd buy at this price though as it is an old radio.

I amazed that so few bits of kit offer Internet radio these days. I have a Goodmans one from PC World which is great.

Tempted with the Denon S52 DAB a while back, and now it's time to buy the Pure Avanti which gets awesome reviews.

Yep I also agree internet radio is completely underrated. Out in the sticks where I live DAB is not an option and internet radio provides great quality, greater choice and the ability to listen again on BBC services. Plus you can stream music from your PC or iTunes collection.

I also bought the £17 Bush radio for my parents and they love it. 24 hour Mototown...... god help me when I visit.

If it's the same procedure as yesterday's M&S WiFi radio deal then you have to go to the very last page before the reduced price is shown.
