Doesn't look too shabby if you're going for a bigger screen size, as well as the Bag, Mouse, Mousepad and SteelSeries headset. Obviously there are a few gaming laptops around just now, but I think this one works out quite nicely overall.

It’s packed full of epic features too, like the highly responsive SteelSeries keyboard which is designed to let you react faster when you play – for an added edge against the competition. It also has MSI Cooler Boost 4 technology, so you can enjoy improved performance when playing on the highest settings, without overheating. And, this model comes as part of a bundle with a SteelSeries headset, bag, mouse and gamepad.

Under the hood, the GeForce GTX 1050 graphics, backed up by a 7th generation i7 processor and 8GB of RAM, lets you play all the top titles. Plus, this laptop can perform day-to-day tasks too, so you can work on all your homework or business projects before getting stuck into the action.

Its i7 7700hq btw
Not a bad deal, gpu being 2gb lets it down

No SSD and just a 2gb 1050. OK but not an especially great deal.

Bpanther it's nearly 2018. Media is nearly dead. You'll find DVD drives become less and less common going forward.

C'mon you can get a dvd drive for £15 on amazon.
I like games to be 60 fps on high/ultra. So I would go for 1050ti as a minimum but if you have lower expectations then this would be good for most games at medium.
Look at the Amazon review before committing to the buy.

But with the drive one could install a SSD!
Are there more sata spaces for an ssd in this?
Anyone know what the display is like on this?

Optical drives are a thing of the past. Boot off USB stick if needed for installing Windows etc.

Omg no cd/drive and only a 1050 gpu lets it down so dramatically from the price with it being a i7 and a 17.3 inch screen I must control my anger lol

i have a 950m in my laptop and that plays most things on at least medium at 45-60fps

a 1050 should be capable of high settings on most games with AA turned down
Is tge 1050 better than a laptop with 960 gpu? My asus has i7 6700 cpu in it too

It's also only 15 inch where the one posted in this thread is a 17 inch screen
Yeah like others the 2GB gtx 1050 lets down this beast. Oh well voted hot
Just be aware that MSI laptops, especially budget gaming, have garbage screens
i7 and a GTX 1050? PC equivalent of skipping leg day, what a waste of an i7.

It’s amazing how all of these “gaming” laptops aren’t really set up for gaming at all, it’s a massive con. People are i7 and get a raging hard on thinking they’re going to be smashing AAA games on the move, but with a 1050 (non-Ti even!) they’ll be lucky to play Minesweeper.

Save your money, find a machine with an i5 or an 8th generation i3 and a GTX 1060/1070. GPU is far more important for gaming.

Second hand refurbished shouldn't be compared to new.
I wish i had the slightest idea all these numbers and letters means. I play an xbox one and have a basic i3 laptop but this deal seems hot

Although I agree with your general point about balancing the parts for reduced bottlenecking, I don't want people who are technically unaware to be misled by your comment regarding "minesweeper".

This graphics card will happily run all triple A games at 1080p (the actual native resolution of the screen on this laptop) and run those games really well.

Which is typically a decent deal for a low end gaming laptop at this price point.
Upgradeable hardrive and ram?
Still waiting for external GPUs to become a mainstream thing. If you're gaming on a laptop you'll never be too far from an AC outlet, plus you'd have the flexibility and portability of an ultrabook when on the move.

If people absolutely must (bang the table) have a DVD drive, here is a small selection to choose from
amazon.co.uk/s/r…813

And floppy disk, sadly no 8 inch though

amazon.co.uk/Flo…ppy
But can it run Crysis?

Or a usb dongle for even less

***MattyD96*** Dose this video help?
I just bought this mainly for the i7 and the 17" screen.
Gaming doesn't really bother me now, but my old i5/15" doesn't help much when coding.

This deal also cheaper than I found elsewhere.

**strike33** ref 'MSI laptops, especially budget gaming, have garbage screens'
Really!!!
My MSI PL60 7RD Intel I5 Gforce GTX1050, has a Full HD IPS screen, is that not good enough for you?
I did change the colour settings to correct the red tint on every thing
In these parts, if I left the house wearing that bag on my back, I doubt I'd make it out the front gate.
Just posting to voice my review on my alienware i5 1060gtx laptop that I wish I went for the 1080 (now looking). Even on low settings on BF1 its not super smooth and hitting around 50-60fps. Cod wwii sits around 110-120 at times drops to 80.

For anyone looking for a game laptop look at the 1070/1080 range to be honest.

Yes, if you can afford a 2 grand+ laptop
Save up, giving a heads up to anyone looking for a gaming laptop to opt for a 1070/1080. 1060 is definitely play able but it struggles on BF1. Not tried any other demanding games so cant review. 1060 alienware for under £1000.
