Hot as it's the cheapest around. But not impressed that ebuyer have upped their prices so you dont get the 10% off compared to their own website prices.

But a saving of £7 is still a saving.

Yeah agreed.

On that note, when these weekly eBay discounts come on, who's out of pocket? eBay or the sellers?

I thought eBay because when they do site wide discounts, surely they don't expect the private sellers to be out of pocket?

Does that mean sellers who up their prices like eBuyer here actually make more profit from these promotions?
How does this compare to the nvidia geforce 1070 8gb?

It's slower than the 1070 but quite a bit cheaper.
As much as an Nvidia fan as I am, this is a great bang for buck card.

Thanks, i know nothing about gpu's but know my 1070 struggles when rendering ray-tracing light. Thought this could be a good replacement.

If you want ray tracing then you need a 20 series card e.g. RTX 2080. Fps on non-20 series cards is terrible when ray tracing is enabled.

Thanks ill look into that. Rt makes such a significant difference, it really is a game changer imo.
I have a 2070 but they are a bit pricier than the 580.
The more you spend the faster FPS you'll get with ray tracing but I found the 2070 does it quite well at 1080p.
The 2060 is cheaper but obviously it will be a tad slower, especially with RT enabled
It's not amazing though and still not in many games. It's ok but not mind blowing.
The 2080 will probably handle it at 1440p but the jump in money was a jump too far for me.
As there are a few experts here, anyone recommend a decent graphics card to stick in my quad prcessor PC to handle and play 4K movies smoothly.

If its just strictly for films not gaming your main priority will be noise. Most cards have can decode video decently these days.

I used to have a low profile fanless card for playing blu ray films back when I had my media server.
Great card if u have 24” or less monitor that has native resolution 1080 and u have no real intention of gaming at 4k.
Comparable with the 1060GTX.

Any recent card will do that. Also quad processor doesn’t mean much. The first quad cpus 10+ years old now.

If by handling you mean editing, use Blackmagic Resolve and buy this very card, as the RX580 is one of the ones they recommend.

Not just turn ray tracing off
I had this card but the temp was somewhere between 88 degrees to 92 which was quite worrying for me so I sent it back.
