got one of these at christmas for my daughter. (299 with 320gb hard drive and no blu ray) have to say impressed with laptop. nice neat unit though wasnt too impressed with webcam. not as good as the acer crystal's.....hot for me

Quite good specs for the price, apart from the processor. And apparently the screen isn't too great either.

i read a couple of reviews and some people loved the screen , others were not too enthusiastic

I got the CR-630 deal on xmas eve. The laptop is great imho, quick and nice looking. Downside is the speakers are pap and unless you are looking at the screen in a darkened room it has tons of reflection (think its the glare type screen).

Bought this on 23 december. a very good laptop for the money, would definitely recommend it.

There is still some on ebay too

I'd rather get that and upgrade the ram.

I bought one of these before Christmas for about £370 refurbished from Argos Outlook on Ebay and they are still the same price on there now, so this is a really good deal for a new blu-ray machine. A very nice laptop, relatively light and the build quality feels good. If I was being very picky, the screen isn't great, especially if not viewed straight-on, the speakers aren't very loud and the processor isn't the world's fastest although as it's good enough for HD video it's fine for most people.

Ment non integrated INTEL card my fault

The Bluray player cant hide the fact that the most important part of the machine is rubbish as it is with this with a AMD Ahlonx2. cold

I bought one a while back I traded upto an intel i3 without a blu ray drive for £150 more because the amd is so slowwwww

It will be good enough for day to day tasks, and more importantly for playing BluRay, which is clearly it's intended purpose here.

Try not to be such a whinging **** and see what the laptop is aimed at.

Would anybody be so kind as to recommend me a better blu-ray laptop please? I can afford around this price or a little higher. Thanks...

I've got a CR500 refurb from Argos outlet almost a year ago and had no problems what soever. Used several hours a day.
The only thing that ruins it is MSi's odd keyboard layout which I still haven't got used to.
1st is the function key at the bottom left hand corner instead of being inbetween the ctrl and windows keys. 2nd the most annoying thing leading to loads of typos is the layout of the cursor keys.

I don't really get what people expect for this sort of price! I bought the last one in Argos in the whole of London last Thursday, and am absolutely delighted with it - bags of storage, webcam, HD display, Blu Ray, HDMI, bluetooth, 3 USB, Ethernet and Wireless LAN, card reader, 4gb RAM and 500gb hard drive, a more than adequate processor and graphics card for my requirements. Keyboard layout is absolutely fine! A blu ray player alone would cost at least £75.00 FGS. Fantastically easy to set up the laptop, was up and running in next to no time. Top marks from me.
