There were 4 in stock at Mill Hill branch when I checked 10 minutes ago ...

Good price for a decent CPU.

My old laptop has just went bust, could be tempted with this.

i had issue connecting to the link - hot from me

The one I got the last time it was this price was 64bit Windows.

These went like hotcakes last time it was on offer at Xmas. Good pc. It is 64bits Window and blueray is superb when you have set it up

Looks good, I'm half tempted. Bit confused what the laptop looks like though. A Google brings it up as a black beauty but on Argos it has a white keyboard area.

super hot deal especially it has a blu ray

How much would it cost for a battery upgrade?
Reviews are showing 2-3 hours battery life.

can this laptop play games?

I am not saying this isn't a decent price for a laptop with a bluray drive but jut be aware that this machine does not include a dedicated graphics card. The radeon HD4200 is an onboard shared memory graphics chip.

Also, how much would it cost to buy an extra 2GB of RAM ? (Is there space on the board for it?)

Good spot. Have some heat

To be fair it can play some games, Fifa 11 will run on it, but none of the newer FPS such as COD:BOps or games like Mafia 2.

This site is an excellent guide for gaming on laptop graphics cards:

notebookcheck.net/Com…tml

Strangely it shows this card as capable of running COD MW2 on low setting and basic framerate.

According to this review, there is a free RAM slot so you can just buy another 2 GB module to get this up to 4GB.

CPU speed is a bit low, but then for £300 can't complain too much.

I keep getting tempted with each new laptop deal. Not sure I need blu-ray let, but the specs look good.

not bad at all especially with the bluray shame about the graphics card

When i got it last christmas it was a Athlon P340 Dual Core, the graphics was slightly better as well.

indeed @spark9990, it was a 340 and an an ati 4270 we got one for my mum, slapped 2 gig extra ram in it and off she went - its a real nice unit for the money

I bought one last Christmas and this a great laptop for the money. Upgraded the RAM for £14 to 4 GB and it is a snappy fast machine. I use it for Bluray movies connected to projector , editing photos and video and it is great. This is excellent value for money.

The Processor is actually Athlon 340 and not 320 and the Graphics card is 4270 and not 4200.

People who want to buy this for blu ray movies connected to TV and AV amp, please note that this can only output the DTS core and Dolby Digital as passthrough or decode mode and cannot pass or decode DTS Master Audio or True HD.

Good price, shame it aint got a Full HD screen to go with the blu-ray.

full hd on a 15 inch laptop screen are you kidding me! it would make no diffrence at all

Got one at Christmas.

All a bit lightweight compared to my dell, but much faster and with a better display.

The thing that really lets it down in my opinion is the sound from the speakers. I know that laptops aren't exactly brilliant in this department, but the sound level and quality are quite simply laughable. I took it up with MSI but had no reply.

Yeh your right, im just playing with you!

Good machine for the money. Speakers are sh1t though.

Would the £295 Dell deal be a better spec (minus the blu-ray)?
Could this play starcaft 2?

can it write dvds

For £30 more and didn't need the blu-ray would you be better off with this hotukdeals.com/dea…972

True... as has been said, not a huge point in Blu Ray if the screen isn't full HD.

The benchmark for the CPU is significantly better.
