Argos Deal of the day.
Seems a nice laptop if you want to stick to under a £300 (by a whole penny) budget and quite a few left in the North East for anyone rushing to buy last minute xmas presents .

Hot from me, seems ok spec for the price.

Good price.

V hot!

Seems like good spec for the price, at £299 that's only just above netbook prices, and you're getting alot more here. Ok it wont play modern games, but what do you expect for that money? Hot!

I agree good price but the screen resolution is not compatible with the Blu-Ray player. Not full HD so will need to use the HMDI slot to show the picture on a TV

I'd say it's damn hot for the cash.

MSI do very solid machines and if you want to be able to play all the latest pressed disc media (ie Blu-ray!) it's an absolute bargain. HDMI out too of course so HD to your HD TV.

Ain't gonna be many of these around soon enough. I've just reserved one at my local store (who had 2).

Blu-Ray will play fine just in 720p.

Just reserved one at my local (Bold Street, Liverpool), only 2 more left to reserve. Good spot.

"Current selling price valid until 23/12/2010"

So don't faff about if you want it

The MSI laptop I bought ala Hotukdeals a while ago for my daughter is fantastic, far, far better than anything I was expecting.

Voted hot.

Was that the one I posted (refurb one at 299 with 1 year warranty?) My daughter loves hers too!

is the blu ray drive just a player or can it burn blu rays as well?

I would say read only

thanks - read some less favourable reviews of it, but still a lot of machine for the money

Any warranty with this?

niec hot

Yes!! Thanks again, fantastic laptop, I was very impressed and not a little envious when it arrived.

Very hot at what it seems:

I wonder if any more technically savvy user would be able to tell me if this would be at least similar, in terms of processing power, to my 2-year old (no HDMI or blu-ray) Fujitsu laptop powered by an Intel core 2 duo T5550 processor with 2GB of RAM plus Intel X3100 rubbish onboard card.

The most demanding applications will be Photoshop CS2 and then (maybe) some 1080p-to-720p video encoding. No gaming.

EDIT: does anyone know what software MSI includes for blu-ray playback?

Cheers!

Just to add that it is a DVD writer also, however I would say that this is downgraded from the original model which had 4GB Ram and 320GB hard drive.

Still a good price for a general surfing machine

This is good value for money.
Ofc you won't be playing Black Ops on it but it could handle some older games and its great that its got a HDMI output and blu ray player. Id shove an extra 2GB ram in it though.

Errr sorry to go completely off topic but MightyHorace, can I ask, are you being attacked by a giant cabbage in your avatar?

Best laptop ive seen for the money +1

!!!!!!

If I reserve one for store pick up but it isn't available til Wednesday will I have to pay the 'full' price or is it reserved at this price? I think that I can guess the answer....

No take a screen shot of the order at the price today and take it with you, they should honour it.

Great price... Thanks reserved one.

If I print the email that they sent me will this suffice?

Yes as it has the price on it, if they are argumentative about it, ask to see the manager.

Thanks Triker.
