Waiting it out for the ultrabooks but think I'd go for this one:

MSI CX61 - Saveonlaptops.co.uk

Full HD screen & Blu-Ray for £50 more.

Incidentally , when are the haswell ultrabooks due out? I need one

I was tempted by this but you can get the lenovo z500 with the same graphics card(albeit the 1gb) version.
Only big difference is the ram and the quad core i7, whereas the z500 has a i5 dual core.

Except the z500 is £480 and this is £650 - £170 for a better cpu

Also I believe that the cx61 has a better quality display.

Trying to decide what one to go for...

If i got the z500 I could spend the extra on an ssd for the OS.

I had my eye on the MSI CX61 Haswell with full HD bluray and 16Gb RAM, with the intent of adding SSD at some point. But turns out there is no slot for SSD on that machine. So instead I am getting a Dell 17R 7720SE from dell outlet: i7 ivy, 17" full HD, 8Gb RAM, GT650 2Gb video, and 1 Tb HDD. This is £520. Then I will upgrade to 12Gb for £45 by swapping a 4Gb RAM for 8Gb, and add 128Gb mSATA SSD for £90. Hopefully that set-up will sing, and will be £655. Not very portable I know at 3kg+, but it's really a desktop replacement.

Hope it helps someone

I can't see the CX61 on the list of laptops eligible for the free 3-year warranty. Am I looking in the wrong place...?

It talks about an extra year for free, so it sounds like it's applicable to those laptops that come with 2-year standard warranty:

The free one year warranty extension, worth £69.99, is available on all the following Intel 4th Gen (Haswell) and AMD GX70 based Gaming notebooks.
