Bought the ASUS EX-GTX1050-O2G from amazon warehouse yesterday, to return or not to return?:/
Would this be a worthwhile replacement for a GTX970 4gb....?

Nope not even the 1060 (Only few extra FPS). Only worthwhile replacement will probably be the 1070.

What about replacing a 680?

What about replacing a 680?

This site is quite handy ->

videocardbenchmark.net/com…596

The 1050 looks more power efficient, but based on 2D and 3D scores, you'd be best sticking with what you've got.

What about replacing a 680?

Similar but this is much cooler and more energy efficient. The 1050 is slightly higher performing in practice due to support.
Replacing hd4850, should I get this gtx 1050 (£89.99) or rx 460 (£77.99) both available on novatech). Or anything else in this price range, smaller card (height wise) is better for me.

Great price, not much more than the crippled 1030

Good review of both here

If you have 4850 then most likely the rest of your system is pretty old by now and both GPUs wouldn't be used to their fullest anyway. If you wanna save a tenner, then go with the 460. However, 1050 is the better option of the two and would serve you better in the long run if you decided to upgrade other system components. It would help if you listed your current specs here to say for sure.
Thanks bruupx, Yes it's quite old

Dell 435 mt
i7 920
12gb ram
4850 hd Radeon
I upgraded power supply to 650 watt 2 years ago and it does have ssd, it's usable but showing it's age now, I'm hoping the card gives me enough of a boost to get my by for another 18 months

Will the 1050 be worth the upgrade, or should I just leave it

gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…641 1050 for 21% more speed, see link
Can I play PUBG with this and a midrange i5?
yes u can but u av to put some setting to low I got GTX 1070 and some of my setting r low it's bcoz game is not fully optimize yet but u can play it very well on 1050
Might replace my GTX560Ti
Would this offer much over a 650 Ti? Its in an older machine (Q6600 with only 6GB of ram) so not sure its worth it.

You may be able to upgrade your cpu to a 6 core xeon x5650 for around £20. I've done it on my lga 1366 board, but not all motherboards allow it. It's a significant improvement for very little cost.
Saw this last night and in my trolley waiting to be paid for ,best value ,a 1050ti retails about £30-£50 more and the 1050 gets some great reviews as a very good value card and to be honest with all the mining scene going on it will be a while till other prices drop so for current gaming great value !

I got medium at 1080p with a 950 but my processor is an overclocked i5 kaby lake so I presume the game is being bottlenecked by your CPU, not GPU.
Forgive my ignorance but would this be much better than a Gainward Nvidia GTX 295 2GB. Just building a first gaming pc with nephew and have scrounged some bits and bats from other people and this is one of them but we do have some cash if necessary for extras.
The 1050 is just below the 960 in performance.
Then you can almost follow back the GTX staircase of models. 960 = 770 = 680. The. Decide where you sit in line with those models.
Not a perfect rule but an indication.

And the 960 is woefully inadequate to power modern games at 1080p. With this thing clearly below that, yikes, it's not worth even £60. But continue trying to make your sales pitches for Nvidia, it's amusing
Can someone say how many times faster this card is than GTX 295 2GB? For example, what difference would this card make when playing GTA5 compared to GTX295?

By woefully inadequate. Are you referring to Ultra settings, High, Medium or playable?
The 960 is decent enough for a multitude of people.

As for my Nvidia sales pitches. You couldn't be more wrong. I just like calling people out for spreading elitist nonsense. I have no brand allegiance. In fact once in stock my next will be an RX 580 8GB. Is that ok for anything or will I be limited to mine sweeper and solitaire.
1050 is quite good. Ofcourse its better than say a 650ti. The Nvidia stircase example is a good guideline if you arent looking at benchmarks(recent ones).

Yes the 1060 is better but this is less than half price and works at great value for the performance. The twin fans will only help it run cooler than it already is.

IMO its affordable and doesnt require a PCI express power connector. Most will be happy!

I can get 70-80 FPS maxed out on a 1070 with 6600K with no overclock. Medium/ultra view distance I get 100+ except in those 'PUBG moments", I dunno what that guy is doing.
Just ordered. Quidco at 1.7% also for an extra quid? Was waiting to see if the ti's dropped to £100ish for the 'household' computer rebuild but this is an excellent price for a clocked 1050

Tried to order to replace my GF 660 3GB,

Got a 15£ surcharge for delivery to Northern Ireland.

Northerners have it tough
It was out of stock when i first came across this deal after my current card failed (nvidia gt645).. A bit miffed i missed out as i don't really need a great gaming card, but wanted something that would run most other things.
I took a chance that it might come back in stock (site said ordered on request etc), so ordered it a couple of weeks a go still at the offer price.
I've been using the built in motherboard graphics and to be honest, it has not been a problem.

I was just about to cancel as it has now gone off the site and the replacement showing isn't the 2GT twin fan version. Also that is £113.
Just got an email to say it's on the way!
Quidco tracking at £1.35 as well
