Please check screen on this, Amazon had it for £949 a few weeks back and read reviews there said screen not good.

Better than an iPhone 10

I remember having a quick look and it appeared although the screen isn't perfect, most people were willing to overlook it as the rest of the machine is so good. Only one seemed to think it was a major issue.

MSI are being sued by a class action in the USA for mis-selling gaming laptops. Would probably be wise to avoid until the action is finalised. Not voted on this deal either way.

What was it over? How are they mis-selling the laptops?

Why is every damn laptop deal on here for an i5???

This is the 15" screen version. The GP72 is the 17"

Sorry, I'm not sure where I got that description from, I've edited it to the correct spec now.

AFAIK it was the promise the laptop GPU's were up-gradable but once Pascal was released it was clear they would not work (the 10 series are a bit different and give quite a big jump in performance too). I don't know the full details but I think that's the basics.

MSI offered a trade in programme but it doesn't seem to have been that favorable, I did have a friend who got his money back in full though (and actually bought another MSI).

Is class action like the vw scandal in uk

No its a group of upset Americans who think they can grab a big pile of cash for bring a but disappointed, often seeking thousands & thousands for "damages"

The HP Omen I bought recently for £950 advertised here seems better value as it has GTX 1060 6gb with 1080p 120hz G-SYNC screen. I bought a 128Gb SSD for £50

Yes. It applies in the U.K. also.

Laptops were mis-sold here. I was a customer that was affected.

Nope. MSI mis-sold worldwide. MSI certainly lied in it's advertising for its top end GT72/GT80 machines. The class action is not about reward but simply holding MSI to its advertising and ensuring owners are not out of pocket due to MSI.
