Another decent deal from Scan, seen a couple of 1070's for around the £350-370 mark the last couple of days and they've all gone pretty quickly.

Heat, I was going to get the Asus Duel earlier but missed it. This deal is still live and looks just as good as the Armor so purchased

Asus has less power connectors. More is better right?
Good card with no LED super h4ckz0r over clocking stuff.

I've just bought one.

If volta comes out and hammers the 1070 prices down I'll be a bit gutted but with the impending currency issues I have jumped.

Highly likely. GTX1070 is nearly 18 months old after all.

Expect to pay a decent premium for volta when it comes out too, and that's probably 8/9 months away.

Luckily whilst browsing Amazon warehouse yesterday, I found a zotac mini 1070 for 270ish.

Very happy, I only play at 1080p!

If you're quick you don't lose out too badly; the market takes some time to adjust.

I bought a 970 for £250 in March 2015 and sold it for £175 (after eBay fees, postage etc) in June 2016 just after the 1070 had been released, so it ended up costing me about £5 per month.

The MSI Armor vs the ASUS Dual. Any reason to pick one over the other?

Probably just the cooler/aesthetics difference with those two. The PCB is likely identical (don't quote me on that though, I may be wrong).

Mining, Brexit and general Nvidia greed changes that logic IMO.

In terms of the price of the highest end cards then sure the top end one won't reduce the cost of a GTX1070, but the ones below it will.

They are coming soon since Nvidia have never waited more than 20 months to launch a new generation. For the GTX1070 it just depends when the midrange cards arrive.
