Seems like a good price for the spec. I've not seen one below £400 before. Don't get me wrong , still a lot of money for a graphics card

I have been waiting for a new graphics card for a long time. They say the 1070 is the one to have, the 'sweet' spot in performance for the new cards. But, I'm going to hold off a little longer 'til the dam breaks and the prices fall.
Currently though, this is probably the best deal available.

You can crossfire them so not an issue. It's only if you let Windows 10 deal at a software level (can't remember what Microsoft call it) with it that it might be a problem

Edit: It's multiple GPU in DX12

He means devs have to bother adding decent CF compatibility into their games and AMD have to bother keeping up with drivers.

1GPU>2GPU always. For a bunch of reasons.

Terrible advice.

Also, at the moment, 2 480s that won't melt your PC cost 250 each. So you can do CF for £500, more than double energy bills, and have all the headache of 2 cards... Or buy a 1070/1080 and not have any of those headaches.

Or wait and *pray* that the next offering from AMD is 'good' and isn't reduced to be another "budget" card.

AMD 480 was not initially intended to be a middling budget card, that's how it ended up after setbacks.

Price matched by amazon if you prefer buying from them

Good price, heat added. I'd generally consider MSI as one of the better manufacturers of graphic cards.

Crossfire doesn't work in some games (especially on release), can have compatibility issues, forces you to play in fullscreen mode for DX games (no borderless windowed or windowed), require a compatible motherboard, more power, etc...

Single card is better in most situations.

The card is still new and is still awaiting it's new update which is said to include a load of fixes for issues... I'd buy 2 over this card every day of the week.

I have a 1070. Its good enough for most 60fps at 1440p. Disappointing to say the least.

The only thing I took away from this comment is that the 480 has loads of issues... oO

Definitely take a 1070 over crossfiring 2x 480s, it'll save you a world of trouble and strife. Whilst this is a good price for the 1070 currently, it's still too pricey for my liking, I'd expect it to drop to £330ish, in a few months, once the production ramps up and competition kicks in between the vendors.

We all hope the price will drop £60, but just how long will that take? Maybe Christmas sales.
