Not sure why this is so hot, don't buy a 1060 in 2020

Was thinking about getting this - can i ask why not the 1060?

Are there far better options in this price bracket?

For the price no, a GTX1060 is in my opinion the absolute minimum tho for PC Gaming in 2020.

Should run most games in medium settings and some in high depending how demanding the game is.

Ideal for PC gaming on a budget, just don't expect demanding games to look as good and run as well as more powerful GPU's.

Would be a deal if it had an ssd.

Dependant on what you want it for maybe you should get it and it'd be perfect for you. Just mindful 1060 is getting quite old now and when you can spend just £50-60 vs a new 1060 and get a 1660ti which can be overclocked to be 40+% faster.

I guess my comment is more of a sweeping statement vs how much more you could get with a self-build.

But like I said I guess depends what you want it for.

If you're on a budget you should definitely look to build yourself even if you just get a friend to put it together.

For that spec and price it would cost more to build this than buying that pre built honestly.

This is ideal for gamers on a budget, if you are more of a hardcore gamer or have money to burn then building it yourself or a high spec pre built are the best options.

Not everyone likes building desktops themselves however and that's why pre builts still sell well to this day. Each to there own!

Would be a deal if it had an ssd.

SSD is not a deal breaker especially at this price point. SSD's are coming down in price too, not hard to install one yourself if you really want one.

HDD and SSD can be had as affordable extras, what matters is the price to spec and particularly the CPU and the GPU.

For around 400 odds this to be fair is a good spec for the price!

Hahaha now say syke.
ive given this some heat!.

i thinks its a fair nice price product, its alternative item,

when comparing last gen 2600 vs 8400 there about even in FPS,
1060 6GB vs RX580 8GB about even,

last gens fan boys battle!.

think they messed up with the numbers, 8gb ram one section then 16gb in the next and then 16gb SSD, usual these came with 120GB.. time u whack my listening of a 1600af rx580 with an HDD its over this, and very near same performance in all honest, just doesnt have much upgrade room.. so on that its got heat from me

It's 8gb ram, 16gb optane, 2tb hdd & 6gb graphics card, agree it's a good deal, just ordered it myself, will added extra ram, found some red 8gb sticks on Amazon
Great deal for this spec. I have a similar MSI system and it is easy to upgrade as funds and requirements dictate!

I have a Ryzen 2600 and a rx580. What is this mysterious black screen you talk of. Never happened to me. Well unless I've forgotten to switch my monitor on.

Driver problems with AMD causing issues. Here is a very recent online article on the issues below that states gamers are ditching AMD/Radeon because of the problems.

Thanks for that. Suppose I've never encountered any issues with my set up so had no reason to go looking.

Yes if you read the article you linked that's with Navi GPUs such as the RX 5700.

There is no issues with the RX 5xx series or with Ryzen CPUs. In fact it's Intel CPUs that are full of security issues and Nvidia's Geforce Experience is terrible in comparison to AMDs software.

Would you really choose a used PC with little upgrade potential over the system you linked? The difference is night and day to me.

for me no mate clearly, but one of the reason folks like me on here is i understand others needs "marketing"...... this is idea for someone who wants to pay just under £500 doesnt want to pay a penny more (a little budget under the £500 to sort the ram amount out) who doesnt then wanna pay a penny more not now once all set up, not in the next 6.......12...........18.....24 months, this is there total investment, and for them type of folks i see this as a good deal, good performance as a budget build and that only.

Wouldnt be something id go hey get this bargain machine, i just understand why some folks would and would be very happy.

I guess I will agree to disagree, a refurb of this spec with a 12 month warranty isn't a good buy IMO. I would expect a 3 year warranty if I was going down the prebuild route - especially if I didn't know how to repair it myself.
