This is on my list too!

For those wondering, it's a great board as it has 3 x m.2 slots that run at PCIe 4.0 x 3. Cheaper boards won't have this.

It does only have 4 SATA ports for reference, but if you are using m.2 then it won't matter.
I was looking at these motherboards too, but end up with a Asus Crosshair VII X470 for my 3K PC WC build.

The reason is there are simply no justification for an X570 at the moment.

PCI4.0 is nice, but nothing really take advance of this beside a few NVMe that runs at 5000MB/s instead of 3000MB/s, unless you do video editing.

Everything else is basically the same.

The down side is the small chipset fan, I would rather go for a passively cooled chipset within my WC setup where I can keep everything as silent as possible. It is also another point of failure.
Picked up a MSI X470 for £112, couldn't justify the price compared

How much was your Asus board out of curiosity?

Everyone's circumstance is different, as I'm buying this board to make it 'somewhat' future resistant! I've had my current setup for 6 years and this new build will hopefully last the same amount of time.

Also, I love the look of this board although I appreciate many others won't pay extra for that!
You not worth the money, very overpriced, as is the whole x570 either overpriced or just utter crap for the price charged, pcie4 is all but pointless at the moment, chipset fan is another point of failure another moving part another noise maker.

amd can't even get the chipset to idle down its always on full, the ageesa / bioses are abysmal, boost clocks only now just make it on single core, one good ccx and one meh ccx for the price asked is greed and a rip off, were still beta testers even after 3 generations now, and to top it off the problems don't apear to be getting much btr.

Once again i've just stuck to my intel system not out of loyalty cause intel as greedy AF but at least it just works no issues no noise and me z370 aorus g7 cost me £200 new and it has 3x m2 and a great vrm etc, not like most of these "next gen" pcie 4 x570 pieces of crap.

Gotta down vote, its not a good price for what you get and the platform is still very immature and not stable.

If your building it for gaming why not get a Ryzen 3600 and take the money saved and put that towards a better GPU instead.

3600x or 3600?

3600x or 3600?

Both are essentially the same so I went for the 3600 and overclocked it. The 3600X comes with a better stock cooler and a slightly higher clock speed.

Skip intel this generation, AMD is king at the moment for performance and price point by a good 30-40%

Right now AMD CPU's are better for video editing depending on the software used due to having more threads.

Unless your using one which only relies on single core performance. I found a link below which may help you:

What issues have you had mate as I'm considering a purchase.

I got issues with booting , by some reason board won’t boot every second time and you can’t even power off or restart motherboard. With some strange beta bios from support looks like it sorted for now. Bad boost clocks for my 3900x, even on b450 mortar I was getting better clock speeds.Of course crappy win software, but this is small issues. If you want 570 better pay a bit more for gigabyte board.
the one of these I got has been fine, no problems at all.
Boost clocks, even with ABBA are a little low, but im running fixed clocks now anyway as its quicker multi core, same single and off much lower voltage.

It is expensive for a motherboard, but I got some x570 boards simply to be able to run multiple NVME drives at full speed. Its worth the extra for that imo.
Plus with AMD there is a strong chance the mobo you buy now will last several more CPU generations, including core count increases. Which suddenly makes it appear a bargain compared to buying intel mobos for £200 and binning them 12months later.

Except AMD only committed to keep AM4 running until 2020 and given the pain they've had with Ryzen 3rd Gen they'll be more than happy to ditch it for 4th Gen and start fresh with a new socket and chipset.

To be honest for future resistant I would totally pay good money at the start of an AMD socket. But with this an upgrade path is a maybe as AM5 is round the corner.

True, I guess it's about when you make the jump.

I know I'll easily get decent money back for my 4790k, which will subsidise some of it.

It's a bit of an odd build. Like others have said I would save money and get something like a MSI B450 Tomahawk and a Ryzen 3600. Also you are spending £100 on a 850W PSU, don't get me wrong it's a good PSU but you could save money here (Maybe an RM650) and upgrade your 500GB SSD to a 1TB Sabrent NVMe.

Where did you score the Crosshair for that? I have a MSI carbon X370 that I bought at launch to go with my 1700X but I'm seriously thinking of a upgrade, this MSI was the board I was going to choose but after all the issues with X570 it makes sense to choose a older board. I've watched reviews of my X370 board running a 3900X without issue so I could keep what I have save £300 and just put the 3900X in that. I'm so torn at the minute I don't know what to do my current rig is still plenty fast but I like to have the latest tech my biggest worry is that this maybe the last am4 socket year and I could spend all this money only to be looking at a replacement in 10 months and if rumours are true the 4***X cpus will be amazingly fast and AMD would have solved the issues they are having with X570 motherboards.

Personally I would get a 5700 XT as it's about £100 cheaper and not much slower but a RTX 2070S is a nice card.

There we go, another Intel fanboy , there is NOTHING which would give Intel any advantage over AMD these days unless you use your PC for gaming only. Every new product has its "teething" problems so please show some more objectivity in this matter, I could go forever with all the Intel`s cock ups. One of the ops above written a good statement - he is trying to build a future proof machine which, in my opinion is quite the point. And if someone doesn't have enough money to afford it - there are different options, no need to call X570 "piece of crap".

To me - your attitude gives me a clear picture of yourself - an Intel troll.
