I've pulled the trigger on this as I've never had any issues with Very however I do know that a lot of you have. The deal is still pretty sound considering you get Destiny 2 too.

NOTE: ****YOU WILL NEED A CREDIT ACCOUNT**** For me this was ridiculously easy but your mileage may vary.

Has anyone actually had Very later revoke a discount code you used and then get a bill for the difference?

Not yet. I will let you know

I’ve used Very for years. Used all sorts of discount codes and never had any of them rejected or revoked. Had an issue once (my mistake), customer service was spot on in sorting it out.

Got the same deal a few months back but for the ti version got it for £650 delivered.

Tempted but is it worth getting a 1080 (unless a really good deal!) so close to the rumoured release of Volta?

Original Poster

Probably not... That said graphics cards very rarely lose value. My 6GB 1060 has actually gained value which is bonkers

Also, f*ck it you only live once

Nah, if you have not upgraded already don't do it now - not many games coming out in the next few months that would push it.

I needed the extra grunt for my Vive - Fallout 4 and Skyrim VR out next month. Would be nice to play the games I do have at higher res too - Shadow of War will be a treat.

I've had them honour the discount code on the payments page, made the transaction at the discounted rate, only to find out they've stung me the full amount when checking the bank 2 days later.

not much of a fan of VERY because of this and a couple of other issues,
...... but for a decent 1080, it's not a bad price

Not a great deal the cards are showing up for round £430 at times and Destiny 2 is not worth a lot so I would wait,
I got my 1080 with destiny 2 + £45 cash back for £430

Cracking deal that. I'm happy with the Gaming X. Seems like a solid card

I was going to get 1080. But i have 2560x1080 so settled for the 1070. Both have 8gb ram after all

Gaming x 1070 is the one i got. Lol. Went up from 980-ti. May go for the volta if it's a huge improvement.

you can already get gtx1080 under £500 and with black friday approaching, seems a silly time to buy, but maybe i just like taking a risk and hoping for a price drop on BF

Isnt that illegal?

Apparently that's what's they do if they decide you weren't entitled to the code.

Make sure you go through the t & c's carefully. I did something like this with the PS4 Pro last year and they didn't give back my £70 refund because I didn't buy it on BNPL.

To be honest they make it very clear that the offers are for BNPL, its why I have never purchased from them.

Im sure they aren't allowed to 'bill' you however they can withhold the cashback or credit if you have failed to meet the conditions of the offer.

I don't know, but enough people made comments in this thread; hotukdeals.com/dea…902

to to put me off buying

You put the code in at checkout and it applies the BNPL automatically. Finger crossed I'm hoping it's a smooth transaction

I thought I was buying it on BNPL but it turned out to be on credit. It just wasn't very clear when going through the process.

Hah seen quite a few of these on eBay, posted with blurry Very invoices. Surely they can't expect the auction to go much higher than this price, especially when you take in to account fees

Original Poster

If anyone still cares I was contacted by Very within a few days of purchase about them giving me the £100 credit. Delivery was very good too. No worries so far...
