I am under the impression that Nvidia now works with freesync with newer cards like yours.

The freesync feature will not work. There is a Nvidia equivalent called gsync on some monitors but it is significantly more expensive
27" looks too stretched imo for 1080p. 23" seems to be the sweetspot

Oh really? I’ve been trying to work it out for ages. Just bought a gaming pc and searching for the monitor now. I’m very new to it all and there’s a lot to learn
Similar price at Overclockers website but with much faster delivery (next day)
Freesync works fine on 10xx and 20xx nvidia cards now, just enable it in the driver
I bought one of these 2 days ago, great monitor, really good design too if that's important to desktop aesthetics. Performs great via HDMI currently on my desktop running Geforce 1660 Super Nvidia card. No issues so far . Gsync is apparently able to be used via a displayport cable certainly on earlier cards, I am certainly no expert though. Set at 165hz according to my settings. It's a good buy imo.

It could. You need to check the Nvidia list of monitors that they have supported Freesync with. From what I know, they are continuing to add more monitors with each (driver) update.

Yes if you update to latest Nvidia driver
The brightness is a turn off for me, 300 cd/m² Brightness is pretty low, I have a 24" iiyama with 250cd/m² Brightness and this is always set to 100% and still dull

Anyone suggest an alternative?

Its not that newer cards now work with FreeSync but that newer FreeSync Monitors are now Gsync Compatible with some older monitors that have been tested to be Gsync Compatible. Nvidia have a list on their website which has a big update every year around Feb/Mar after CES

Go to Nvidia's website and get the Gsync compatible list from there you can sort by resolution and refresh rate so you can find the best monitor for yourself. It is missing cost though so you will need to find the cost on Amazon or the like for each individual monitor.

Okay thank you that’s very helpful
Swing and a miss.

This would be perfect if only it had 1440p!

Thinking the same but is 1080p gaming at a high FPS that big a problem? 1440p seem to be a lot more than this, I’m currently using a 40” Sony TV with my new PC until I get a monitor, bigger really isn’t better
