Got it for the same price on black Friday. Decent monitor, do not use the gaming mode or any other mode because it causes some smearing
Any good for an xbox one?
I was told 144mhz for a minimum for a gaming monitor. Would it make a difference for an “average” gamer like myself

Minimum?? No, I'd say maximum. You'll notice a difference in most things, even desktop mouse cursor movement.
In fast moving games it 100% makes a big difference.
You need a display port cable and to set the refresh rate manually from the display options.

Do YouTube research, it'll help clarify things too.

It will be fine for an xbox one however consoles only run at 60 fps so a 75hz screen is a bit of a waste if you are only playing xbox on it.

Wouldn't say its a waste, this monitor is probably 60hz to begin with. I had two monitors in the past advertised as 75hz but were 60 out of the box.. It reaches 75 when adding custom resolutions in windows
