i think it would run most games.. at what settings is a different question. min spec amd card for jc3 says hd7870. according to the gpu hierarchy table on tomshardware this is in the same league

interesting stuff, thanks.

been looking for a card that can run JC3 since last year and this is *just* about my budget.

hd7870 is a much better card than r7 360 but older

7870 = r9 280 this is way behind, still not a bad price though and as said above it will run just about anything you'd just need to drop the settings.

Still haven't worked out the "REPLY" function then.

Yes, a lot faster. R7 360 is Tobago (aka Bonaire Pro) which is a 128-bit bus design and is similar to what is in the Xbox One and is from the same/similar generation so has TrueAudio.

No, not quite. HD7870 was Pitcairn XT which is GCN1.0 and the first batch to launch along with Tahiti (7970/7950) and Cape Verde (7750/7770). For the 200 series it was rebranded as R9-270 / R9-270X (same config but different clocks). For the 300 series, Pitcairn XT was again rebranded as R9-370X.
However, R9-280 was a rebrand of 7950 while R9-280X was 7970 so Tahiti. Tahiti was dropped for the 300 series.

I'm not up to date with the latest gpus but tomshardware lists these all in the same bracket (I'm sure other sources disagree). I would guess it might factor in other criteria like dx support level and the improvements they bring and not just raw power/gpu architecture.

GTX 660 Ti, GTX 760, GTX 950
RX 460, HD 7870, R9 270, R9 270X, R7 370

I think a 750ti would be good for you as that can easily run just cause 3 and other stuff

yeah sorry, had a brain fart! 7870 got rebranded as r9 270x, 7950 was 280 and 7970 was 280x
