Wow. Didn’t think it would reach this price again so soon. Buy it - you won’t regret it!
Not sure if this comes with the three games? CCL terms and conditions say the promotion ended 9th Feb but AMDs official site says April some time. Queried it with their live chat team and was told it's ended!

Can someone try and summarise for people not up to date with this card …Can someone try and summarise for people not up to date with this card like myself cons and disadvantages and if its worth the buy and if someone has bought it can you confirm if 3 game offers is valid ?

Pros:
Extremely good performance for the money. Can run almost all modern games at 1440p 60fps (or at 1080p at 90-110+ fps depending on your cpu). Much more powerful than a 1060/rx580.
Great at running vulkan/DX12 based games, so will probably age quite well.

Cons:
AMD cards in general perform really shit in some titles (assassin's creed games, GTA V and a few others).
Performance in old games tends to be weaker than nvidia's equivalent cards.
OpenGL drivers on AMD cards are absurdly bad, so some emulators might be a bit rough to run if they don't use vulkan. Afaik the only emulator that might still be a problem is citra (3ds), and even then performance is only bad in some games, but in general it handles most emulators well.
Power consumption is kind of hilarious.
Generates a lot of heat. Could be a pro during winter, but not generally desirable.
Very loud. Running default settings is bearable but switching to turbo will make your ears bleed. Some other people here have mentioned that you can undervolt to reduce temps/lower fan speeds, which does help, but it's still a pretty loud card.

The cons list is pretty long but most of them are just minor annoyances that I wouldn't worry about too much. Performance of this card obliterates everything else at this price point, which is the important part (for me at least).
The 3 free games are still valid until April I believe but don't quote me on that lol.

Very good price. Only bettered by the very brief Christmas sale Scan had on them (£226) but otherwise probably best price. Would be tempted but I managed to bag a bargain GTX1070 recently
I said something similar on a previous deal but this card is a great buy at this price.
Beware of the cooler though. Expect the card to run hot and VERY loud.
Would recommend 100% if you h7ave noise cancelling headphones lol

It's loud but really doesn't run that hot, that blower is good at getting the heat out of the case. Mine seem to sit around 60-65C under load.
Nice I got a gtx 1070 2nd hand from ebay for around 215 a few months ago. With the extra games and new this is a great price!

You can undervolt.
Eww reference design. Stay clear.

I didn't say you couldn't. I just didn't want to open that can of worms again - I undervolt mine.

So if you didn't how hot would it be? As saying 60-65C without stating that's with an undervolt is a tad misleading to potential purchasers :/

That's without undervolting... that's why I didn't say anything about undervolting until you mentioned it, as if it's some secret. This is exactly what I meant about 'can of worms'. The reference blower is good for getting rid of heat even if it's loud.

The GTX1070 I got is a blower style too (Asus Turbo). I was expecting it to be terrible for noise and thermals as I have always gone with cards with big aftermarket coolers in the past like dual and triple fan models as I have a full tower case so putting heat back into the case isn't a big deal.

In actual fact it doesn't run significantly louder or noisier than two or three fan GPUs I have had in the past, I won't worry about buying blower again! The type of blower used is the same as the one they use of the GTX1080 and even the 1080ti so if it can cool those monster GPUs a GTX1070 is probably easy for it...

I have that card too. To be fair, the Vega blower can move a lot more air but it's also a lot louder. The dual and triple fan coolers can keep a card cool but they blow air back into the case so you can end up recycling a lot of warm air unless you have other fans to move air through the case. I guess it depends what you want - for me, loud GPU coolers aren't an issue as when gaming I usually have headphones on anyway.
Cant be as loud as the ps4 pro fans!! Just cancelled my sapphire pule order from overclockers and gone for this thx op

If that's without undervolting why do reviews say different, at least ten degrees higher :/

How is it a secret? You have heard of Google, forums and YouTube I take it :/

You're right - I must be lying. I love misleading people that's why I'm active on HUKD. If I cared enough I would start a game up and screenshot it but I really don't.

I was being sarcastic about undervolting - if you mention it, then someone says it's not realistic and you shouldn't compare it to an undervolted card and AMD are rubbish because they shouldn't need undervolting to stay cool.

To any potential buyers, do your own research and make your own mind up.

Noooo dont say that, gonna be gutted if it's that loud just for saving £50

It's tolerable at about 60% fan speed but 75%+ is getting a bit silly. If the difference is £50 then I'd still take that - as I said I don't mind loud GPUs, I'd prefer that over one that runs hotter.

You are partially right. I just checked now on Amd's website, the promotion ended. However, you can redeem the games until April.

Following purchase, Coupon Code must be redeemed by April 6, 2019, after which coupon is void

Campaign period begins November 15, 2018 and ends February 9, 2019 or when supply of Coupon Codes is exhausted, whichever occurs first.
Was going to get the strix rx 580 8gb oc but from what I can see, this is hands down more powerful and cheaper.

Once undervolted this thing will performed on some games as fast as a 1080TI. Obviously all depends on the chip, but good speeds are to be had! Good guides on Reddit /r/AMD about undervolting!

Right but all that means is if you already got codes from the promotion they'll work until April. Presumably that means people buying now wouldn't get the games which is pretty big chunk of value gone from this deal.

Correct. Basically they send you a code which you can redeem on amd rewards website. If you have tjat code already you have until april to get them. If you're not interested in the games this is still a good offer as the sapphire 56 is 300 gbp at the moment.

Just buy it if you need a reasonable GPU and don't mind the jet engine noise.

But for £250, who cares if it sounds like a hoover. HOT
Wicked price....

Fast as 1070ti stock, can go above 1080/2060 if you undervolt. Better than 10 series in vulkan/dx12 but slower in asscreed and GTA v as another user said. Faster in battlefield, depends on the game engine.

Being reference it's going to be loud and hot, I would go for sapphire pulse for an extra 50
good price for a vega 56 if you need a blower card, hopefully this will kick start price drops and the open cards will come down to this kind of price

One thing worth mentioning is that Overclockers still seems to offer the free games on purchases of the Vega 56, so the Sapphire Pulse for £300 could end up being a better deal if you manage to sell the games for £50

Just been playing Anthem in Ultra 1440p 144hz. Beautiful.

I have a Pulse Vega 56.
How does this compare to the GTX 1070? I bought it recently but not a fan, runs quite hot and noisy, even when compared to my old RX 580 so might have to return if this is a good deal.

Which 1070?
See I wish I had a blower card... my case has basically no airflow and a blower would make the world of difference!
