This and the gaming plus are the same board. Just look different. Plus is £2 cheaper if someone is here for savings over looks. Good deal though
Good price.

if you're not able to update the BIOS due to lack of an older CPU, AMD are offering a CPU loan for this. Scroll to the bottom of this page.

Iv just purchased it as iv been looking for a x470 and it was between this and the Auros X470 Ultra but with this being £30 cheaper and reviews being 4.5/5 and all being great it's a no brainer.
what's the difference between this and the Gaming Pro Carbon?

If I was to get 3600X or 3700x, what would you recommend. I will only be using one GPU, so guess I don’t SLI?

I will echo what @Jovic9 said and yes the MSI boards have a slight issue at the moment with the bios which is being updated but MSI have the best VRM's across the board compared to other manufacturers especially for the B450's and again solid recommendation to not go for the X variants for Ryzen 3000 series. You can easily gain the same performace if you buy the 3600 and oc it. both 3600 and 3600x are identical on the spec sheet apart from the slightly high clocks same cache same cores etc....
i returned mine; would not work with Ryez3 or 5, the Ryzen7 booted intermittently. I also had a mem failure and I suspect this board did it... ymmv but I cannot recommend.

Thank you to both of you. I appreciate it. I’m thinking of this for my first build.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro 100i or NZXT Kraken X52. Is 240mm the right size for me?
MOBO: what would you say if I wanted WIFI, M.2 slot. If there’s not much difference in price, I’d rather upgrade to a better one if it’s worth it.
MEMORY: 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200MHz
STORAGE: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 and maybe 860EVO too
GPU: 2060 Super or 2070 Super ?
PSU: Any recommendations?

Let me know what you think and if you’d recommend something else. Chose this ram and cooler just to add some RGB if I’m honest.

Just use the box cooler it's perfectly fine, the 100i is not worth the extra expense.

Cheaper here (£100.78) with code PARTY

For anyone thinking of using this with the new 3000 series, AMD offers a Short Term Procesor Loan Boot Kit to update the bios: amd.com/en/…100

What monitor you running? What refresh rate is your target? Might be worth bumping GPU up, possible sweetspot for 3600 ram too.

I'm going to buy a 1440p monitor 144Hz and hopefully 1ms

Cool. Then I'd say it might be worth trying to factor in a 2080 or a 2070 super. Faster ram may help a bit too.
Edit: g-sync is worth doing at that res too. For games that struggle to maintain a solid 60+ it helps a lot.
Some benchmarks of a 2070S at 1440p. Good frames. Guru3d does great reviews of all kinds of hardware too, not just gpus.

Hope that helps you make a decision.

Good luck with the build. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you have any other questions.
