This is a decent deal.

Been thinking about building a new pc, so tempted to go for this but haven't bought any other parts yet

i think this is a better deal - novatech.co.uk/pro…tml

with a free coolermaster seidon water cooler

I'm sure this is a good deal, but all these Intel motherboards are vastly overpriced - why, because Intel charges an arm and a leg for the northbridge/chipset - having driven off Nividia etc from making compatible chipsets by legal action. They have tried to make it seem normal to pay £160 - £200 for a motherboard, which is in fact ridiculous. Hopefully AMD with Ryzen will be a true competitor and we can get back to the days of £80 fully functional motherboards.

True say. Paying extra for light's. Ok better components.

If anyone was wondering, it's the Siberia V2's that come free.

Even compared to Z170, prices have gone up across the board by £20-40. For £100 you had a choice of Z170 boards that does everything a gamer needs plus allows for a strong 24/7 overclock. With Z270 you can't get a board for that.

no game no cashback either but its 20 quid less than the others anyway and besides...a cooler master seidon is like 50-60 quid by itself

Unless you only want Intel go ahead but I would say wait as Ryzen/Zen is coming out witthin the next 2-3 weeks, which is supposedly a beast from the press releases so far, and if you do want that you will need a AM4 motherboard

Exactly what I'm doing bit annoying 6 month wait turned to a year wait aha but not long left now and pricing looks very fair. Worth the wait so far for me. Also like supporting AMD for obs reasons.

Dose any one know exactly which headset is in the promotion, please? I had a look at their website and could not discover which one it is

Never saw the point spending this much on a mobo, 70 quid tops for me. Hot though if this is what you're looking for.

Siberia Gaming v2

With ryzen around the corner anyone considering building a new system should wait and see what the prices are as amd has promised long term future chipset support so you wont need to keep buying a new motherboard to use their latest cpu unlike intel of course.

Nice board, I was thinking of getting this but the other deal from Box.co.uk made more sense as I needed a cpu too. So I've got the MSI M5 gaming board.

Any further details on the free Coolermaster cooler? Can't see it mentioned in your link.

Awesome deal too OP been planning a build for a while so this type of deal is great to know about.

wait for ryzen/zen, then reevaluate. intel dropped the ball to focus on cloud based hardware. disclaimer: intel 1155 rig here.

adam45417

£70 Won't get you a Z170 or Z270 motherboard for overclocking though.

I wonder if anyone has compared whether it's better to spend £70 on a motherboard and use the £90 saved on a faster chip instead of overclocking.

Wait for ryzen

AMD Ryzen is coming.

Yeah I know mate, but I spent only 70 on my current mobo and it clocks my old 3570k to 4.4ghz no problem, don't see the need for anything else.

I got myself an Asus Z170-A from ebay for £70

lol why are people always saying AMD Ryzen is coming ?! so its not here yet so buy intel ! And to be honest looking at the bench marks i'll stick with my 7700k.

This, this, this. We're essentially condoning anti-consumer practices with accepting their ludicrous profiteering from /purchases/.

Where exactly is the Siberia Headset deal detailed?

Clock for clock for gaming then no you are likely not going to want Ryzen. But if you need cores and threads Ryzen will get you twice as many (but probably only 50% more performance) for the same money.
Or for the more main stream a 6 core 12 thread for 4 core i5 money which I suspect if you are a game streamer will wipe the floor with the i5 in this situation.

So a 'K' SKU i5 plus a Z270 mobo or a Ryzen 5 1500 and B350 mobo for the same price?

Why would you not wait for Ryzen? it is most likely going to be out in the next 2-3 weeks and all signs are very promising. Why would you not wait to at least see the benchmarks?
If you don't need a new rig right now you would be silly not to wait.
I personally am eying up the 1600x

I said a Z170 or Z270 motherboard which are for skylake and kaby lake only? They are the only motherboards which allow overclocking on k series CPUs for the current generation cpus as far as I know.

Just got this mb. Very good for what you get including the For Honor and the cashback. This is great for the headset to. Also MSI had taken less than a day to comeback with the For Honor code (Uplay)

I got this board with free headphones @ Ebuyer last week:
ebuyer.com/769…bon

Showing in stock @ £159.95, whereas Novatech isn't... if it helps anyone!

The board is pretty good and the headphones are too.

Ebuyer makes no mention of the cashback/game, but I've already received the game code, so assume cashback will work fine when MSI open up the claims form.
