I'm in the process of building my own machine - well, I have a parts list! Keep on the lookout for price drops so purchase each part (with the help of HUKD). This is the cheapest I have found this particular board for the new 8 gen CPU's.

Thanks for sharing! Sorely tempted to build my own decent spec server for CAD , CAM etc and just remote in with the old laptops round the house general basics
Got a Z270 Tomahawk the other week for an i7 7700 build, cracking board, cracking quality, usual 5 day wait from Super Saver delivery but well worth the price ( abt 95 quid ) so this ones even better....only thing id miss is no Optiucal Out/SPDIF but if thats not a concern then a great board for a good price!

I'm going to regret asking this. Am I going to miss having no Optical Out/SPDIF? Isn't this for linking up to HiFi etc (never built a rig before so have little idea what I am buying!!)

You don't need optical, you can buy external one for £10-15 and use USB connection.

Aye, as per "deliveryman", i use mine as i attach it directly to my pc and have my surround plugged into the Optical, its by no means essential and a cheap USB one or additional soundcard would probably suffice, for me no optical was a deal breaker but then im living in the 90's when SPDIF etc was a "thing".....
