Very low price for folding bike with Shimano Nexus 7 hub gears.

Low weight design and easier riding.

No need to change gear before stopping at a junction just stop pedalling and set the correct gear before cycling again. Simple chain line and maintenance free gears for convenience. Simple up/down gear selection. Wide ratio gears.

Same bike also available from field and track and sports direct. Muddy Fox is a sports direct brand.

Their bikes are sourced from China, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh as far as I know.

As far as I know there is no comparable Nexus folding bike in this price range. This looks to be the closest which is over £500.

However Dahon bikes have a high incident of frame failures along with Tern.

Price includes postage charge of £4.99.

Note: there are also good value accessories and spares on the same site which might be worth considering ordering at the same time because of the one off delivery cost.

To use topcashback you will need to make your purchase of the same bike through sports direct.

It looks ok for the money but I'm waiting for the Raleigh evo 2 to come on offer again @£200. It's £250 at the moment at Halfords but they normally reduce there bikes for the Easter holidays.

My bargain was the terrain i fold from tesco at just £50.

Evo is a nice bike especially as it likely comes out of the amazing fuji-ta factory in China but its not hub gears which you normally pay a hefty premium for. They are all weather, low maintenance and much more convenient to use.

"However Dahon bikes have a high incident of frame failures along with Tern." As you'd expect when they probably outsell most other brands by a massive amount.
I'm usually as critical of these cheapo bikes as the next guy... but this looks OK for what it is.

Would you mind letting us know when they reduce the Raleigh to £200 please. I would certainly pay for that price..

Thanks.

I recently sold my dahon speed 7 as the folding mechanism hinge developed play after about 1500 miles.

Yes will do, I am checking it daily, it's usually the Easter weekend, sometimes they also have an extra 10% of the sale prices as an extra bank holiday monday promotion. you may be better opting for home delivery as most stores are only carrying 1 or 2 in stock and one of them will be the display model.

Oh brilliant, another £20 off would be a steal.

Appreciate it. Thank you.

Maybe but the factory looks a bit low tech compared to their competition.

Compared to Fuji-Ta who make the Raleigh Evo I think as well as other bikes including Cannondale.

I think there is a issue with their frame quality from what I've read and the facility seems to indicate that would be more likely.

The reason I mentioned it was because I expected people to say 'Dahon' was a much better bike but there has been major issues with the quality of that brand. However saying that I think for Europe many Dahon's are made by max.com of bulgaria and so the quality could be different to the Chinese plant anyway. I would suspect the Bulgarian plant is about final assembly of bikes using Chinese frames in Europe to avoid high EU import duties.

Was that the same one you mentioned previously had a poor tolerance between frame saddle tube and saddle post so was hard to prevent it moving, or was that a different Dahon you had?

Dunno how much you can read into that. Oranges are made by blokes in brown store coats are a rate of 40 a week and they have only had 0.45% failure rate. youtu.be/mlI…Qu4

Wow great link. Didn't even know Orange were making their own frames I would have assumed they were buying in frames from Taiwan like even the big players like Canyon who charge up to 5 figures for their bikes. I have great respect for those guys. However I believe after reading many articles that robot welding can produce higher quality frames with more consistent welds especially for aluminium. Those Orange bikes look fantastic though and I don't think such small scale quality should be compared to a mid size high volume factory like Dahon who do have known quality issues and reported poor frame manufacturing. If I win the lottery I'll be getting this one I think which costs £1700.

Hi, just to let you know the evo 2 is now £200 using code BIKES20 on Halfords website.

Still available and still a great price for a 7 speed hub geared aluminium folding bike with above entry level components.
