I have got one and its fantastic, the RRP is crazy but at £200 still a great deal

Nice

Decathlon are still stocking the Triban 3 at £300.

Ten times the bike for 100 quid more

Aren't Muddyfox supermarket cheapie Chinese BSO territory these days ?

The brake shifters retail at about £100 so for a value starter road bike, you can't go wrong here.

A muddy fox at £500, PMSL. The days of when they were quality bikes and worth an RRP are long gone.

Why does it matter what the inflated RRP is, your still only paying £200

Not a good argument. Component prices are inflated with regards to things like shifters compared to what an OEM can get.

This isn't a good bike and most people whom this bike would appeal to (ie. beginners) will struggle with a double crank as opposed to a triple.

It's a BSO.

It is a road bike. Doubles are as much the norm. So lets hope it sensibly has a 34/50 chainwheel set. Yes, it is a cheap bike but £200 wont get a 2300 equipped one anywhere else.

Triban 3 from Decathlon is a million miles better for £299

Because it's not worth spending £200 on, and the inflated RRP just makes people think that it must be ok at £200.

Spot on, anyone considering it, do yourself a favour and get the Triban 3 from Decathlon instead, and if you can't afford the extra £100, search for a used one from ebay, you might still pay £200 for a well-loved used Triban 3, but even 2nd hand it'll be far, far, far better than this.

It's not the worst bike ever, but for 200 you'd be better with a second hand bike from a major brand.
