Worth buying if you want a 2nd bike and not worry about it being nicked .. hot

Someone will still nick it if left unlocked . It's great price for a bike

absolute piece of rubbish

Hot from me.

I can probably find worse for less, delivered, if you're interested?

If you want a cheap bike, there are LOADS of top quality used ones on eBay that people sell when they're upgrading. Buying a new bike is such a waste of money as its value drops immediately.

to save people time, the comments on here will go something like this:

This bike will kill you

i bought a bike 50 years ago for £1 and it still goes great, never even had to oil the chain

I got a bike like this last year and it fell apart, the gears didnt work and so it never got any use

show me a bike for less

buy second hand

got I hate bike snobs

inverse snobbery is just as bad

i'm glad this bike weighs 400 tonnes, means I get more exercise

pay road tax

I can beat any lycra clad cyclist on this thing, name a place

*names place*

*previous poster goes strangely quiet*

this bike will kill you

and so the cycle (pun intended!) continues

The reason your kids are leaving these type of bikes in the street is because they are crap.

If it was half decent they would be riding them.

Not snobs mate. Just know the difference between something which is fit for purpose and something that will inevitably be left out for the scrapman.

When you consider the mark up on retail, the cut that everyone else in the supply chain will have taken and the cost of shipping the damn thing from the other side of the world, how much do you think the parts that make up this bike will be worth?

With that in mind, would you really consider it safe for use?

How likely is it that it will even get anywhere near the average milage that a new bike in Britain will do before it's scrapped?

(That is between 50 and 60 miles by the way)

And because they have parents who don't see that as a problem! Kids of today....................! oO

You really don't need to spend thousands to get a fairly decent bike, or wear hundreds of pounds worth of Lycra to ride it, BUT if you're buying new and cheap you'll need to spend something over £100 on a very simple bike to have a chance of getting something reasonably well made. Forget the suspension - it's just adding weight and sapping energy. The skips at the local tip are full of them.

Decathlon is a good place to start for a cheapish bike. Here you go for £120 (though a bit more will buy better):

Yes, I know that's nearly double this deal but it will work.

Buying used only works if you've a reasonable level of knowledge and can service it yourself; if so you wouldn't be looking at one of these in the first place. Bear in mind that a pair of tyres and tubes is going to cost you upwards of £30, add a couple more bits and labour and you've bought a cheap bike! I just bought a virtually unused Giant Hybrid for under £100 but it took 6 months of looking to find it!

I'd also say anything over about £700 is a complete waste for 95% of riders - if saving a few grams is important just miss a meal!

Sorry if the views in this post are too 'balanced' but I've been attracted by cheap in the past and learned a few lessons.

As I always seem to end up saying on these kind of cheap bike threads, not everyone wants a bike to go on 100 mile rides every weekend. Anyone who just wants a cheap bike to commute a couple of miles to work or to visit their mate's house will be fine with something like this, and if it did get nicked it wouldn't cost too much to replace.

Naivety over experience. Even 'a couple of miles' is a long way to push it each time a part fails.

i think we all know that's not how the internet works!!

Great price for a fully built bike (here it comes)
BUT i recently purchased a muddyfoy from toys r us and i have to say i was not impressed 130 from 200 had them build it,

within 1 week (7 days)
gears were slipping brakes had been realigned 3 times needed a 4th...
frame had buckled back wheel looked like a slinky instead of a wheel
and front wheel fell off,
now as i had a *professional*? build this i would not expect this within a week then to be told muddyfox had been sold to universal bikes << s**t China stuff i was furious went back and got full refund build cost refund as-well. Muddyfox had a great name now they are Chinese toot and if i am being honest no i would not buy this bike put my kid on a 70£ bike hope you like the hospital wallpaper
as you will be there alot,

and in the end went and brought a GT would never go back
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
just a honest review of what I think and the experience i have had with this company

Gutted, Muddy Fox now Chinese tat?? I had a Muddy Fox for 10 years, loved it, what a shame they can't replicate the build quality
