If nothing else this will develop your son's leg muscle to look like Chris Hoy.

Get them a bike with out the heavy suspension and heavy frame, then they can bomb around without having to lug all that weight.
I bought this last month for my son. It really looks good and compared to my sons last bike he finds it a much better riding experience. Would recommend as it's pretty good for that price
