Mugs in box NOW 29p each from cancer research

Found 15th Jan 2015
New mugs in clear boxes are now 29p each.
Each mug has a logo. I saw 3 which were "United we are stronger than cancer", Today's a great day" and "Lets beat cancer soon".
The mug itself is white and the rim is thin. seems a bargain to me

Where can these be purchased from??

I hope people arnt so tight that they just offer 29p for one, if some one on here sees the mugs due to it being promoted on hukd and wants the mug for what it is then at least pay the original price.

well said +1

It's cheap but for cancer research there's something unsettling at that price, how can you fund raise at 29p.

Note this isn't a dig at the OP, in fact this is a great opportunity to buy a cheap mug and donate a few quid to the charity on the side !?

Not sure. Been into one of these places. They're never actually doing that much cancer research. Just a couple of old women going through the pockets.

Just the fact that these are on sale for what will be much less than cost price unfortunately just highlights the mis-management by likely highly paid execs at this company. This in turn is the reason I wouldnt donate to them, as I suspect only a very small proportion of my donation would be spent on actual 'cancer research'

Well said @futura, totally agree.

Do HUKD earn referral commission from charities?

I really do agree with you, but there is a lingering feeling, like a parking warden, they may be a necessary evil, and they may even pay for themselves.

Odds on they cost less than this to buy. Seems unlikely but cheap mugs are always going about

The problem with any charity is that they need run, which is never free. A charity is a business that spends money rather than turns over goods for a profit. Unfortunately to do it effectively require people of a certain market value.
At the end of the day, the price will have been picked to quickly clear stock and get better flowing stock in. The net sales of all the mugs before and after discount will still have made money, clearing the rest out liberates funds to keep cash flowing.

Thanks OP and buy a load and sell these in my ebay shop for £2 plus £3 postage with 10% going to charity, thats another 20p the charity will make

Why not buy a couple of mugs and give a couple of quid donation to the charity - you never know when you might need some help

So true - donate to Macmillan cancer care every time

if you want a cup just buy one if you want to donate to charity do so!

Don't mind donating but don't want to be drinking from mug with 'cancer' on it.

OOS

people who have needed to support if mcmillan nurses would know there worth if u can't afford much to begin with then 20p from alot of sales is better than 2.99 of none let people make there own choice on the matter .
