Been after a mulberry ever since I first saw them! Just need a rich boyfriend first (_;)

Anyone who can justify spending sooo much on a handbag should hang their head in shame, buy a cheaper one and give the rest to charity.

Overpriced and mugging you off.

No one can justify spending on anything, but if that's what you want and you have earned enough to buy one then so what..

You know, if it makes someone's life a little bit happier to have a handbag like this in it, who are you to judge that person?

Haha, I won't be looking on here and tbh neither would I spend that amount of money on someone else so I doubt they would on me!

wish I had seen this sooner, got my other half a bayswater for Christmas...

Oh you'd be surprised with the right person.. The other half's getting Louboutins though she doesn't know it yet, that's pretty much on par..

Judge a person spending hundreds of pounds on a BAG???? I think I'm perfectly entitled. If that's what you need to get some happiness in your life, you need to get out more...

Tough one yeah prices are ridiculous but my missus doesn't drink or smoke so spending £800 on a bag from time isn't ridiculous, she earns well enough. As regards giving to charity it seems a good proportion of Funds these days go to line the pockets of the charity management,

buying a mulberry is an investment. if you have the money, you can buy a mulberry. If you have any problems you can take it back. and its likely its value will appreciate instead of depreciate.

so rather than buying a flashy watch you're better off buying a mulberry

this is the first mulberry sale I've ever seen

used to be half price discounts, but last year they put prices up 15-20% and with a 30% reduction they still seem high priced

all the bayswater's are out of stock if anyone managed to get one you could quite easily sell it for RRP and make circa £1000 just like that

Can i ask, how much do you earn per year?
What percentage of that do you give to charity?

Regardless what someone makes if they want to buy a bag that's there choice! Why give to charity when only so much goes to it anyway? Your opinion on the matter is only that but shouldn't be put on someone else! I have three bags now and only one was bought by me!

How dare that idiot who posted the first comment tell anybody how to spend their hard earned money!!

Heat as some bags are less expensive than they were previously.
That is after all, what this site is all about.

Spend your money, however you like.

So spending £700 on a BAG can be justified? A 'B-A-G'???

As for it being an investment, what a really idiotic point.

It's a BAG, people... you put items in it and carry it around! Why are they better than a £70 bag??? Because it's got a Mulberry logo on it??

I think it's a lifestyle choice along with everything else that you buy... Yes it probably is the logo but compare it to a car - you either buy a Kia / Renault or you buy a BMW / Mercedes. Same logic regardless of what the material item is.

You clearly have no idea about some designer handbags being an investment. Thus no point trying to educate you.
So sad.

Yes you can sell them and get a fair bit for them but they are not going to appreciate when you can keep buying them in sales!

Mulberry bags are pretty cheap esp when on sale if you ask me so not sure what all the fuss is about. I think my missus' wallet probably cost more than her Mulberry bag.

You have no right to judge anyone on their decision on what they do with their money. If you want to start looking at that you can dissect everyones lives from start to finish.

Just because an item is pricey and you deem it to be excessive doesn't mean you can put your 'shame' onto those who wish to indulge and want the item. Your outlook is just ridiculous and you need some perspective. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

very rare mulberry do sales so I didn't think to look this year so thanks love love love mulberrys

Mulberry always do a Christmas sale but this is the worst they've ever had. The prices are more than ever and there was very little when the sale went live yesterday. Their outlets are much better. An Alexa now is £1100 - mine was £500 at Bicester Village.

Love mulberry a bit of art I can use plus I don't smoke or drink so have thousands to spend on bags

I bought my wife one two years ago in the sale for £600. She used to buy one or 2 handbags a month at £30-£50 - since then, she hasn't bought one. Now that's what I call sensible and definitely moneysavingexpert!

Nonsense, I promised my daughter a Mulberry handbag of her choice if she got at least a 2:1 for her degree.
I was very happy to buy the handbag after all her hard work.

ITT Handbags at dawn

Look at all the envious people who won't pay for quality. I agree, they are expensive, but they are a luxury item, beautifully made and will last years, so tot up all the money you'd spend on a cheap bag and you'll soon see that you get your money's worth.
And last years sale there was at least 50%, I bought 3 bags, was an absolute bargain, not much discount this time pffffffffffffffffft.
And, it's my money, I'll spend it where I want. As do I give to charities I SEE FIT for, Who is anybody to try to tell anyone how to spend their cash. Do you go on holiday? Socialise? Tot up those recreational things up alone and you go wayyyyyyyyyy over the cost of a Mulberry , and I bet you don't think of giving to charity as you book a holiday. Idiots.

I have to agree that Mulberry can be an investment for some. Rather than buy loads of cheap bags, just buy one good quality one.
Quality over quantity.
In the long run you'll prob save too! Not to mention these bags tend to hold their value...

I have found that in the past, some bags can be bought at full price just before they are discontinued and then sold shortly after for significantly more.

He's no longer a 'boyfriend' then, is he hun? Gold digger alert!

I bought a Mulberry Antony messenger bag for my wife in a sale a couple of years ago for £330. The same bag is around £600 now. I agree that they are expensive but they do keep (or even increase) their value well and I see it as a little bit of luxury that my wife really cherishes.
