Any idea what the battery life is on this?

Edit - Just seen, 7 days standby. So unless you remember to charge it once a week....

LOL for the elderly. Where you going to stick it, under their hat?
So what's the cheapest sim deal to use in this ?
Ovivo would have been nice :-)
Also, any geo-fencing capability ?
(It sms' you when it is taken outside of a set area).

Nice find.
So handy for tracking teenage daughter?

As long as it's your own daughter I can't see there being a problem
Perfect for tracking someone else's teenage daughter.
I prefer to stalk my girlfriend using Find Friends on iOS.
When these are small enough to be 'easily' implanted under the skin they will become so incredibly useful for families having to cope with a wandering dementia patient.
interested on how this operates and what kind of sim package would cost.

a standard sim would be okay, best to use pay as you go sim with credit.

The size of it what kids gonna carry that around with them lol its not like you can hide it on them.

Sounds like an ideal cheap tracker for the car. So long as it actually works, you can "ping" the car if it ever gets nicked and find out where it is.

Wrap it in a piece of bread and get them to swallow it. (_;)
For use on kids???

Really? Is this what the world has come to. What a sad state of affairs ....
Would like something similar for a cat. This is way too big though
Useful for tracking workers in a sweatshop.
A great idea I think - used in the right circumstances (car tracking/child on holiday)
My car has an extension for the lighter in the boot, nothing to stop you from powering it from there for a very cheap gps tracker without worrying about recharging.

It may work, the device is smaller than a match box.
This is the one of the best thing for someone who wants to build Weasley's Clock !!!

That's assuming it can pick up a GPS signal while located in your car boot.
Interesting little device, thanks OP
what does it mean:

GPS System Features N/A

is it, by any, chance a GSM tracker which will be useless for any application?
I've ordered one from their EU store - it might we ideal if I have a "fly-away" on my multi-rotor DJI-F550 and TBS-Discovery
I heard this GSM stuff isn't that precise
I bet this is just a GSM tracker (accurate to a few hundred meters) rather than a GPS tracker (accurate to a few 10s of meters).
You should remove GPS from the title unless it's proved to be GPS.

Basically just a cheap mobile phone in a little box. Be surprised if the battery does last 7 days, especially in a poor signal area.

Retrieval should be fun!!
Title needs to be amended. This is not a GPS tracker!

Comment from dx.com:
This device does not use GPS signals but gets the position through the GSM/GPRS network (i.e. "mobile phone network"). That's why it is not very accurate.
Unless really strapped for cash may as well get a second hand Android phone with GPS, then use Life360 to track. Will be a lot more accurate than simple GSM tracking.
I use it to track the whole family's location across iPhone and Android devices. Works really well.
I think that this should be spammed to stop others buying something that is not what the deal says - this is a GSM not GPS system - may be useful for tracking someone you know (where a 500+ metre range will allow you to estimate where the person would be), but useless for crime/emergency situation.

I forget the details, they just appear as a series of direct debits on my bank account (_;)

The device works using GSM, it will return a current position and a map link to your mobile phone. You can use GPS to look up the map link to locate the tracker.
