Musclefood Hamper of the Year £55 - Black Friday Deal

Found 24th Nov 2015
I'm aware that the RRP here is overinflated - and always is with Musclefood. However, if you keep an eye out, there tends to be frequent offers that are very good value indeed.

I'm a past customer, albeit only placing three orders over the past 18 months.

That being said, I've just ordered this as I believe it represents very good value.

Kepp an eye out for good offers on their chicken breasts too - I once paid £60, including delivery, for 20 kg of chicken breasts and 2 sirloin steaks.

This deal includes:

24 x 200g Premium Chicken Breast Fillets
2 x 6-7oz Grass Fed Rump Steaks
2 x 6-7oz Grass Fed Sirloin Steaks
2 x 6-7oz Free Range Hache Steaks
2 x 6-7oz Peri Peri Hache Steaks
2 x 400g Free Range Diced Steak
2 x 400g Extra Lean Steak Mince
2 x 4oz Extra Lean Steak Burgers
2 x 4oz Sweet Chilli Chicken Breast Burgers
6 x 75g Premium Chicken Breast Sausages
12 x 57g Giant Free Range Lean Meatballs
30g Grillstock Steak Seasoning

Good deal!

Good deal

Good deal. Their meat is great quality in comparison to supermarkets etc.

As you said in your post, the rrp is overinflated and they frequently have offers like this on.
Even at this price I'm unwilling to risk this amount of meat being delivered after reading about it not being stored correctly during delivery.
I appreciate that some people have been happy with their service but I'm not willing to take the chance!

although their chicken is good value and good quality I find the other meat in this deal not worth the extra, I've bought the 6-7oz steaks before and they are quite small, hardly enough for 1 person

that price doesn't include delivery either

surely their 6-7 oz steaks are the same size as any other 6-7 oz steak you would buy anywhere and anyone whos ever ordered a steak in a restaurant would know thats kinda small.

true but as I'm not a 'foody' type of person for the RRP of £14 for 2 steaks I presumed them to be bigger than what arrived.

Must be a special on this particular bundle because I definitely wasn't charged delivery.

Takes the minimum order from the pre-discount price (which is £125). I ordered today and it was £55 in total including delivery.

I've ordered from them several times in the past, and can highly recommend them. Never once had any issue with the quality, or quantity of what I get.

The steaks are TOP quality for taste!

I'm a frequent customer and have ordered the hamper to arrive 6th Jan ( you can select any date you want and the price is locked), they won't take payment until 48hours before, what's not to like , it's s great deal ( you couldn't buy all this in Adsa \tesco for this price

I have just started using them and found their meats to be very good quality and has much more taste than supermarkets as well as I get the extra lean meats and thats perfect for my diet!

That's the main reason I've always steered clear of these offers. Half of the pack is common-or-garden chicken and the 6-7oz steaks are no use at all.

Judging by the negative votes they always get, I assume most readers agree with us!

I imagine the negative votes is more a reflection on people confusing quality with price.

It's the same as where a deal for minced beef with 15% fat content could go up together with a deal for minced steak with 5% fat content. If the minced steak were 20p more expensive, it's likely to go cold.

There are 20 'Hot' votes on this deal but, obviously, cold votes outnumber them.

Another factor is that the 24 chicken fillets in this deal are 200g each. There are likely cold voters who compare the cost of these to the cost of the chicken fillets they purchase at their supermarket, which are usually 125-150g each.

not necessarily, the last 5KG of chicken breast I bought from Musclefood cost £19 (after vouchers), therefore the rest of this bundle is costing £40 not worth it as there's only 4 real steaks (small at that), the hache steaks are just processed minced reformed meat (like a burger) and the rest is processed meat e.g sausage, burgers, meat ballsand minced meat.

Refuse to buy from this company now because of inflated RRPs.

That makes sense. I mean, if a Toyota dealer offered me a brand new Yaris for £1,000, down from an RRP of £100,000, I wouldn't buy it because of the overinflated RRP.
