sorted byYes they are expensive. But very close to the taste of real tomatoes. I cook all meals from scratch so I use this for pasta and pizza sauce. It makes huge difference in the taste. Try it once you will know.
Yes, worth it for Italian pasta sauces though. For chili or curry, just use the cheaper tinned tomatoes.
Yep.. same price same product, for those without prime for free delivery.
Passata is pureed, sieved tomatoes, so will be smooth. I'm assuming the 'fine tomato pulp' in these 'finely chopped tomatoes' has a bit more thickness to it.
Which then begs the question: what is the difference between this and passata rustica (tomatoes through a sieve with large holes to make a more textured, thicker passata)?
Amazon listings are not always accurate. Upon a search on the Mutti page, found details on region and type of tomatoes used here:

Hope it helps

Real tomatoes don't exist in the UK in my own personal opinion! I suggest you travel and taste the tomatoes from a southern or East European country over there in the summer and then the ones in UK supermarkets and you will notice a massive difference in taste (unless you need to take a test lol joking). Seriously though tomatoes grown in hotter countries with temperatures of over 30 degrees Celsius in the summer cannot be compared to the ones grown in a country where 99% of the year you have a grey sky.
Yes cooking from scratch is great, but for me taste comes first and pricing second and this ticks both for me + no additives to this item either.
Just saying my personal opinion, no offence intended .

Depends on what sort of curry, but it's pretty common ingredient ktc-edibles.co.uk/rec…ji/
It's unlikely they waste the other 80kg, don't you think? Very likely used in other products. (edited)
Chopped tomatoes 3p a tin in B&M.
(Joke).
Seems unlikely they would waste the rest, it is probably siphoned off to go into lesser products, or maybe tomato juice or something similar
Please don't pass half information.
You forgot to mention that you have to go after dark 😁. Also you dont need to invest in any tools, everyone will have 1 or 2 spare masks at home!
Don't people usual use a whole can at a time?
Only if you happen to have the 15% first purchase voucher, plus the 15% is only good for 6 tins.
No limits at Asda on how many you can buy for £3, and some Asda customers may get additional discounts too. (edited)
that to me sounds like a complete waste of food, enough reason, for me anyway, to stick to natures own product (not in a tin)

The quality of the tomatoes is better, you can taste the difference. Same goes for the mutti passata.
Am I missing something? I can’t see anywhere that it states these are San Marzano - it says they’re Cherry tomatoes. If they are San Marzano then they’re an excellent price, but the Mutti whole San Marzano tomatoes on the link are £15.90 for 6 cans.
What makes you think these are San Marzano - am I missing something? (edited)
Not anymore.
Tinned tomatoes in curry? Sacrilege
Definitely not cheaper, and I reckon tastier depends in the time of year. (edited)
Sorry boss. Will try and do better next time! 😁

Fair enough. Good to know
