If they aren't sterile, individually sealed and from a well-known brand like 3M, this is how they could be being made:

Wow will provide minimal protection from corona and certainly give you god …Wow will provide minimal protection from corona and certainly give you god knows whatever else! That’s disgusting

None of them are made to protect *you* from corona, they are to prevent you from giving corona to others (although whether any of them have any effect at all is debatable)

Quite right.
Until people understand that these are not meant to protect *YOU*, we'll not get anywhere.
I see no one around where I live wearing masks, and I won't be going into any enclosed spaces/shops/bars until they do.
It doesn't really matter what you put across your face, just cover it, so you can't spread your spittle, coughs and sneezes.

If everyone did this, and kept basic hygiene practices, we'd knock this thing on the head in weeks.

Omg you may as well wear a scarf from home, at least you'll know where it's been!.

As you say unless individually sealed then not sterile. Worryingly people are walking with them on. God help us

These masks will satisfy the letter of the law but not the spirit behind the need to wear a mask.

Even government purchased PPE was not to the correct standards, so I wouldn't touch these.

No idea where common sense has gone, its absolute madness, how much simpler can it be?
Still surreal seeing surgical face masks trend. One day historians will reference this thread.

A bit misleading and scaremongering your video.

And no they do not need to be individually sealed or sterile.

In use research has shown surgical masks type 1 and 2 are almost as effective as P2 and P3 masks despite the difference in filtering capability. A surprising finding.

And whilst wearing is for the purpose of not spreading the virus, it also has a preventive effect in reducing the viral load you might inhale - as primary route to infection is airborne.

Learn how to put one on and how to remove. And generally four hours max. Once on don't remove.

Surgical masks hardly ever come individually sealed unless your only buying the one. There normally sealed in batches
I think HUKD should be exercising the advertising of responsible mask deals and not encouraging people to use single use masks, that anyway get saturated in 20 to 30 minutes and then do not protect at all. These things cause massive pollution and people should be aware of this. Use washable masks instead for goodness sake!
So this a non medical, surgical mask? Did I missed anything?
Are these welded?
