after something like this but arent the amlogic chips sets better for kodi?
What the hell is this thing?! The title of this deal looks like a random jumble of numbers and letters to me. oO
Android 4.4 UI could have looked at bit more contemporary. Last MX 4k box I bought from China would not play 4k smoothly nor Kodi above 1080p.\

So....... great - if it works
Crap box. 2GB ram version has to be better. This constantly needs restarting. 4k my ASSSSS . Its struggles with 1080p

They're better supported, as far as I know.
shame that only 2.4 ghz wifi
I've never bought one of these imported boxes, but I'd rather have a local warranty and support. Seems best to stick to the Fire Stick/Fire Box/Shield 'trinity' depending on your budget/expections.
I'm aware there are plenty of alternatives - I'm just basing this on personal use & what has performed the best.
bought this from geekbuyer, blown away how good it is, kodi works fine no problems with it up til now!
I have to agree with GNKelly07, the Fire Stick is by far the best experience I have had with Kodi. I've had various boxes like this supposedly Kodi compatible and they have struggled. You can't go wrong with a Fire Stick, side loaded with Kodi and The Beast configuration.
I have one, to be honest 'kodi' doesn't work great, had to do my own adjustments and still some of the movies don't play. But 'show box' is great. Best to get the mini air keyboard with this though, you don't always get one with the mxq, so best to check.
AVOID. I've gone through two of these. First one blew the hdmi slot in my tv. I should have called it at a day but the bloke I bought it from convinced me that I must have been unlucky and talked me into trying a second one. Had nothing but problems with it and when I ever did find a decent stream, the picture jittered worse than a three-legged dog with Parkinson's taking a dump. After a few weeks of pulling my hair out, it met the working end of my claw hammer.

Got an MX3 from amazon for £32 a few weeks ago, works perfectly (although it took me 2 days to work out how to set it up haha)
make sure you get a wireless keyboard with whatever one you get, the remotes are ****

Price has gone up by a couple of quid apparently...

Purely for Kodi, an Amlogic MXQ with OpenELEC is a good choice. £25 or so.
Bit late to the party, but I don't see any advantage in purchase from Far East when same is available ex-UK for less outlay with a better chance of warranty options if required, unless the buyer is a gambler and likes the possibility of being hit with £14 import&admin fees and near-unenforceable warranty for zero advantage. Suggest consider under £29 ex-UK, example: ebay.co.uk/itm…378 or even alternative at under £24 ex-UK ebay.co.uk/itm…552 although personally I would err towards minimum of s905-based box starting at similar money.

Did you have any issue with loading new version of Play Store onto MXQ?
What's the best box ( Kodi etc ) to get and price ?
