Ordered. Amazing timing. Thanks

Not married then?
Just checked with the Mrs and she said no. "You're always buying hard drives". I have one. Shoogly peg.

For the family stuff actually. Think old one on its way out.

Sorry Dave. Was a follow on to my post about wife saying no to me regarding buying this. Apparently one hard drive is one too many. Assumed you didn't have to seek pre approval

I've called Mrs R's bluff though. I've bought it anyway. Wish me luck.

I'm going to build a wall of white 1TB My Passport drives that I've purchased for £22.99 without need. That will definitely impress the missus. More than the tower of sub £10 Samsung Evo Plus 64GB micro SD cards did. Or the table I covered with 120GB Integral SSDs. She's just gonna love it!

You have failed as a husband, she will be sending you back to get recertified. New home, new wife. Only for 6 month like, then you will die and cannot be revived. All the best matey.

But I'll go hot on HDUK for a few hours before I expire.

Only hard drive she'll see this side of Christmas. That'll teach her.

The new is just what the website refers to the newer model type than the old one.
Thanks for posting op, missed this the other day but grabbed it now. Have some heat 🔥
Superb 👌
The one day I don't look at hukd and this was posted and I missed it. Heat added anyway.

Basically, they get a knackered returned hard drive and put it into a new cardboard box, then they ship it to you.... certainly seems to be my experience!!! The first one kept disconnecting, that took nearly two weeks to be replaced, the "new" one, is very slow and clicking badly = probably on its way out

Lucky escape??
Does anybody know what drives are inside these? I am thinking of sticking one inside my micro-server as part of a Windows 10 storage space.

Are these standard 3.5” sata ones or custom built in usb connectors

Could be never used customer returns

If it's a customer return that hasn't been used, still in its factory original packaging then there's no need to 'recertify' it, surely. To recertify it they'd likely have to open it, connect it, test it and repackage it and therfore it's used.

Alternatively if the original packaging was opened by a customer and it was tried however briefly then returned, subsequently it should not be be described as new.

The 'new' refers to the type. There are two seperate types of 'my book' Two listings. One is for 'new my book' the other is for 'my book'
Btw the 4GB size has expired. Now there's just 3GB left. Should be expired,
Thanks. Didn’t order the new style but the old style as price was v good and personally the old style is better for what I need it for

Doh, missed again
Personally I do not like gambling. Not worth the hassle...
Does anyone know if this has a standard SATA Drive in please as the pricing is better than normal 3.5" drives for this size.

Thanks in advance
Argh missed this yet again!
It says 'time machine compatible'; how do they know?
