sorry, put in the wrong category, was supposed to be for information only
as many eBayers do use myHermes for their items

Really?

I've sent over 100 items and had no issues, I'd say Royal mail are the worst as their prices are ridiculously high and the tracking is a joke (often arrives before showing on tracking)

Or you pay for a signature & don't get one when you check the tracking!

RM are a joke. The bit that makes me laugh is when you go to track an item your waiting on and it says "Tracking is only available once delivered" I too use Hermes loads and had no issues.
Diesel price comes down, delivery companies puts up prices!?!
I use hermes but no deal from me as its 10p dearer
Everyone who has used myHermes in the past got an email with price changes yesterday. They are still the cheapest but delivery time sucks. Works for me.
Cheaper if you go via parcels2go

Delivery time? If I send a parcel via a parcelshop in the morning I can almost guarantee it will be there 2 days later unless it's Northern Ireland, then it's usually 3.
Its always 2/3 days for me too
Paypal accepts tracking without signature so u are covered for INR claims on ebay
I have sent over 500 items like 3 years ago only had issues with 2 of them and one was resolved quickly (insurance amount paid in a week)
If u ever tried getting money back from royalmail u would know what kinda goons they are
it's free if you don't ask Hermes to lose it for you.
Thank you, need to send a parcel back.
this price has gone up from 2.60 cold. cheaper on parcel2go.

No worries, we all make mistakes some time. Better luck next time, make it a good one.
I like myhermes a lot and don't agree with a lot of the hate they get. I have sent hundreds of items with them and overall had less issues than I have had with Royal Mail. Delivery is surprisingly fast for a budget service.

Though I still think they have shot themselves in the foot with this increase (and hence had to vote this 'deal' cold). Their price is now so close to 2nd class small parcels at the post office, most people with a mix of small (e.g. magazine, dvd, game sized) and larger items will just send it all at the post office and not bother with MyHermes at all for a measly 10p per item but 20p per item was often enough to sway it in their favour for me, especially for the tracking too, which helps a lot on eBay....

Will probably swing back in hermes favour come the april royal mail increase but thats still two months increased trading to royal mail for the sake of an extra 10p profit....

Not all the time, it's usually 3 days. Rm first class is next day delivery MOST of the time. Standard post is not guaranteed.
"Drop off" is an unfortunate term. This company threw a delivery containing a glass bottle over our fence - with the inevitable results. I would not choose to use them
Have not voted hot or cold as it is about the deal not the quality of the company
In some ways i think they are trying to put a few customers off, i know most people wont get this way of thinking. They have probably found their sweet spot whereby it just works for their current infrastructure. More customers coming their way may reduce the quality if service for their current customers. Unlike RM who have the infrastructure at their disposal but still up their prices and complain about competition. Also RM may be upping their price too so it will even back out again.
I would rather let pigeons carry a parcel insted of these clowns.
I've had parcels go missing via hermes many times. crap

As I say,not for me,the only way it would be 3 is if I'd miss the collection that day so it wasn't dispatched until the next day.I know a lot of people hate using them but I still prefer to use them over RM.
I'm posting a price increase folks, please give me 1000 degrees of heat!

Around 80% of my second class post arrives next day, even when posted around 4pm, no way can Hermes compete on that, so long as you can prove the cost of the item, Royal Mail are pretty good at paying up when the item is lost, and at only 10p difference in price, I'd spend more in shoe leather making the additional trip to a parcel shop.

If like me your parcels are generally around the 1kg weight, I can really over pack, if sending by Royal Mail, which is helpful, plus I try to use my heaviest and largest boxes (save the lighter smaller ones for Hermes), since they charge the same for a 50g item which is 26mm cubed, as they do for 2kg, 45x35x16cm and I do like to get value for money, lol.

Justified to say hermes delivery time sucks. When you book a collection they will come the next day, you can't drop off parcel after 12pm or it will be collected next day. Prices are better than RM, but when you have items on ebay with Fast + Free option using Hermes is pointless and you will end with neg feedback 0 dsr's. I can drop off items with RM at 4pm and still manage to get next day.

Exactly, forgot about that. I can confirm batches of my 2nd class post was received next day. Not guaranteed but most of the time it is.

Looking at my account history, since October 12, I've sent 48 parcels with Hermes and zero issues so far.

With Royal Mail, my brother sent me a Recorded delivery package before xmas and not received after 2 weeks. Checked tracking and it was at the Local delivery office for about a week and sent to Belfast centre where the contents will be auctioned off because there's no return address! Sorting office said I must have thrown away the "while you are out slip" which is not true. Someone was in every day to accept delivery and they've definitely not attempted to deliver the parcel.

Also, an Amazon parcel I was expecting didn't turn up via Royal Mail. A few days later, a stranger knocked on the door and said they found my parcel in the road on the other side of town! The contents were crushed but luckily, Amazon sent replacements.

Never had problems with Hermes and as it's a tracked service the two occasions the buyer has tried to say it hasn't arrived PayPal ruled in my favour as tracking info was provided. Much better than Rm for me.

No one courier/delivery service has 100% success rate. I would say though royal mail has lost more of my items than I have with Hermes. Lol

I had that. She said she didn't received parcel when tracking confirmed it was handed to "member of household".
When I showed her the tracking details, it mysteriously appeared in a cupboard.

I doubt it's RM losing them,it's buyers saying they haven't received it,you get more scammers with RM than a courier.

last time I checked you didn't get any compensation via hermes with parcel2go but you get £25 with them directly.

Iv had to claim for damage before so worth the extra to get up to the full £25 back imo.

I had similar, she said it hadn't arrived and when I told her the tracking said the name of the neighbour it suddenly appeared.

When I looked at her feedback left for others she was so dodgy, she must have left about 20 negs for people saying item not received,as if!!

The trouble is RM leaves you (if you are a seller) completely open to this (buyers claiming non receipt) as their standard service isn't tracked so you are effectively always taking the buyers word as gospel, cos that's all you can do. In this day and age anything small parcel and above should be tracked as standard, if myhermes can do it a hulking cash rich company like RM could do it easily, if they wanted to that is.....
