My Hermes have launched a new postable size up to 3cm deep, seems a great price for those awkward double cds or paperback book or items that are slightly too wide for Royal Mail large letter (max 2.5cm) so end up costing small packet £3 (2nd)

No cover included, so zero compensation.

And the way these guys lose parcels I would never send anything uninsured.
Do you like your parcels thrown over your fence, left in the rain or maybe just dumped on your doorstep then choose Hermes
They seem to have shifted their interest to compete with royal mail small parcel and large letters and killed large packages up to 5 kg for me used to be £2.95 printed in store , now minimum they want is £6.50 dropped big price jump.

Yeah i wonder if the price rise will be passed onto the wee man ie the drivers they are paid pretty poorly!
Funny isnt it the richer people and companies get the greedier they get once they have cornered the market!

Royal mail is worse though - last time they lost something all they offered is a book of stamps - Royal Mail are a joke now!
Royal mail are now trained to make sure they offer as little compensation and customer service as possible!

The only thing Royal mail are good for now are cheap first and second class envelopes and there isnt much difference between the delivery times on them either!

Myhermes I have used for years now and yes they have broken a few things but never lost anything and i have video footage of the royal mail postman throwing my parcels at my door because he couldnt be bothered climbing the stairs so who is worse?
I also have a nice video of Yodel throwing every parcel onto the wet ground out of his van in order to find the package he was trying to deliver - they are all bad so its much of a muchness when t comes to delivery - dont believe all the horror stories.
When i wur a student working the post office christmas mail sorting night shifts the stuff that went on would curl your toes!
Adn its also fact the the royal mail has been infiltrated by gangs intercepting mail notably credit cards and other financial stuff as well as stealing parcels!

Noticed the price change today when doing a couple via the print in store facility previously the 2-5 kg at £2.95 was good value but now its jumped to £6.49 I'll have to rethink it and possibly go back to ebay shutl ups.

Yeah that 2-10kg price is a bit horrific!
I think Myhermes might have shot themselves in the foot with that one!
I wont be using em thats for sure!

I returned a grand's worth of stuff to Amazon via Hermes and lo and behold they managed to lose the parcel. Luckily Amazon still refunded me such is their world leading customer service.

Its getting harder and harder for small sellers to make any profit at all now what with Paypal, ebay and now all of the postal services taking a huge chunk - i can see ebay losing a lot of sellers it will all be chinese ebayers soon!

Exactly my thought over double the price it is a killer for small businesses who can not get a contract with them... I have used them regularly everyday for over a year and would say didnt have too many complaints over all you just have to pack items properly.
I think it depends what courier driver you get with hermes, some just dont care and apparently they are not paid too much aswell
well looks like my selling days are over . the prices of sending parcels just keeps going up

bet ebay doesn't put its maximum postage prices up though . i nearly always lose out on the postage costs from ebay
ideal for them to play catch with or throw over fences or throw windows, would never use them

Have you tried though?
Dont be a sheeple - suck it and see!
Talk from experience not yer arrse dude!
This company has zero standards for customers and staff. If we had a fair regulation system, exploitive crooks like this would be stopped from trading.
They haven't lost or damaged a parcel of mine in over six months. I'm amazed.

Of course their charges are more than Royal Mail 2nd Class! It's a two day tracked delivery!
To be honest when i have had any problems which is not many from over a year they have been quite good and claims are dealt with adequately if you have all the info

Yodel are just as bad if not worse!

So probably better to drive yerself and hand deliver then!

Yep all my claims were paid out all 4 of them in 4 years so not bad!
Unlike Royal mail who refused all claims and in one case just gave me a book of stamps which is what i am reliably informed is their standard response unless a customer kicks up a real fuss!

ROYAL MAIL ARE COMPLETE PONY AND TRAP!

WHATS LEFT FOR US SELLERS?
ESPECIALLY WHEN BUYERS ARE RETURNING STUFF UNDER A-Z GUARANTEE BECAUSE THE ITEM HAS A SMALL SCRATCH ON IT OR IS AS DESCRIBED BUT NOT AS THEY WANT IT DESCRIBED - CUSTOMERS ARE JUST AS BIG OIL TANKERS AS EBAY AND AMAZON!

Worst carrier. You will be lucky if your parcel gets delivered at the right address.
Like mentioned by others. The pricing changes seem bizarre.

£2.95 got up to 5KG was good value. I sold an item on eBay which was on there for a while with that price in mind and had to pay £6.49 which is still cheaper than RM but more than I expected.

They killed it making it £4.05 for 2KG as mentioned you can post this for £2.90 with RM.

I expect they will see drop in business and price will change again soon!
I have posted a fair amount of items with Hermes, with only one which went wrong. After many chats online to their chat and a complaint to an external site which gave me contact to the CEO office, they did the best they could but couldn’t locate the box I sent (Secret Santa sent in November) and the lady gave me extra compensation as they realised the chat let me down (NEVER believe them when they will do a sweep of the depot - they never do it!) and gave me £40 instead of £20 as I underinsured it (stupidly).

About 2 months after I got a call. The label had come off and the depot supervisor found my details from an old label on the reused box. I couldn’t believe it! They then delivered the box and despite me sorting an alternative present for the recipient, they got an extra box which was not expected!

I would go as far to say the CEO office are friendly and do what they say (small amount of employees) and some of the depot staff are diligent. I don’t rate their chat system online which is fed from a script with false lies. A lack of a dedicatedphone number to contact makes them lose a lot of potential for good customer service.

As with any service where they rely on self-employed drivers, the service can differ across the country depending on the individuals conscience however they do have some good staff and they did me right on the one occasion where it went wrong so I feel they should be recognised for that.

I still use them. But the new pricing is not good imo.

I also gained some internal Hermes landline numbers which I will use in future should I have any issues.

They lost a dashcam I sold on Ebay and won't pay compensation as cameras are excluded from their compensation items. I sent them a letter before action and they quickly paid full value of camera.

They will just be going after corporate work. After all why sell 100 parcels when you can just collect 100 from one company.

The hospital I work at has literally about five different companies to send mail - you're meant to look through a massive list to work out the cheapest way to save 2p. Even the internal post is done by a private company and the "NHS Hut 30" (WTF?), who make separate deliveries.

It's a bloody mess. Some stupid person in an office somewhere agrees to this stuff without thinking that people don't have time for it. If it's important I just write "FIRST CLASS" on it in big letters and hope it isn't left to some poor bloke being paid 20p per letter to deliver.
