Anyone bought one of these before? I was wondering if the speed quoted is in Megabytes or Megabits. If it is in bits, it'll be painfully slow.

Personally I'd buy a branded drive such as this for the same price and capacity.

Plus the Lexar comes with 2yrs warranty!

I'm tempted... but I don't really need that much storage yet on a pen drive. I'd like to find something useful that I could use it for...

maybe I could attach it to a small screen (7") and have a little mp3 player or something crazy.

Thanks to the OP and abomination - I've been looking for a 16GB for a while. £20.99 is too good to refuse.

Eventually went for the Lexar one.

Don't forget 6% cashback at cashback rewards if you want a little more cashback.

wow this thing is ultra mega super slow. it would take nearly 23minutes to fill the thing from start to finish

If what you say is true, 16,000MB divided by (60X 23) sec = 11.5 MBytes/s , which is fast ! Surely this can't be at this price, pricing is typical of just a few mB per sec. Normally if a write speed is not quoted by the supplier 90% of the time the flash is painfully slow at 1-3 MB/s but the OP's note says 12MB/s, so it is fast.
