Ridiculous I know but as far as 4TB drives go it's still a good price. Only the black windows one is £54 though the other are £70

Don't know why these should be so much more than the 4TB passports. You are paying just for the name even when it isn't made by Mac
The cheapest recon 4TB passports are about £55!

You'll be lucky to get one, by the time they've been posted here, they've usually sold out!
Best to keep a link open
For those who have ordered, does standard shipping come with a courier who needs a sign or do they put through the post slot?
How do we know if they're not re-rectified? They seem to have a huge stock of them

Drat that means even though we put a note outside saying leave it with the neighbours they will take it back to the sorting office and ask you to drive 40 minutes? No thanks haha.

From experience, don't bother signing up for WD 'back in stock alerts'......they don't send them. As OP says, you need to keep checking back regularly

Better yet, set a HUKD alert for the term “Western Digital”. That’s how I caught one of the £55 drives earlier this week!

One of the 4tb's were in stock this week?!
Why is this so much more expensive than the PC formatted version when it is identical hardware just formatted for Mac?
Awful deal, buy new for £10 more and format for mac, with longer warranty.
Am i write in thinking at a Recertified drive is a used/repaired drive ?
Thanks

For Mac? Can't you just use a normal harddrive, it's just paying for the text

I bought a WD USB harddrive recently and it even said it the setup folders. Mac set up
The hard drive will just formatted to Mac OS but Apple has changed format to something else which turned my 9 second off to use iMac ( Kingston’s 16gb Fury extreme ram & 550mb SSD ) into something that now takes 2 and a bit minutes !!!!

Well it means it's pre-formated for Mac OS format which is different than Windows format that hard drives are normally formatted for..so there is a difference..but yeah, one can format and drive to Mac OS or Windows OS themselves..

It's Western Digital's marketing gimmick..they simply format the drive to Mac format (vs formatting other drives to Windows format) everyone can format and use any drive for Mac format or vice versa..
But some people might read the label and think it has some special compatibility with Mac or so..and WD benefits from that.

Keyword Alerts. Press the bell icon on top of page, Settings cog, then Keyword Alerts on the left. Add whatever keywords you want, then how you want to be notified
