This any good for the recent barrage of Xbox Series S console deals?

Will work for older games to play and newer to store yes.

Bought a 2tb recertified external in July and i am still waiting for it to be delivered. Raised a customer service ticket where they eventually showed it’s been dispatched but they’re still trying to get information on the tracking status…

I had the same issue. Saw a post on here that said to check your local UPS drop off point. Mine was a shop around the corner, called in, and it was there. Been there nearly a month, no missed delivery card to my home address, nothing. WD said this happens a lot with UPS, might be worth you checking.

I'm always put off buying one of these because of people saying the drive has failed on them after purchase. Is there anyone who has used one of these drives for a long time without any trouble?
    Avatar
Yeah I use one with my xbox - had it for about 2-3 years and still going strong

Literally just send one back on the same day that it was delivered. Half way through transfer of my ps4 games the drive made some crazy clicking noises that was it. I have 3 recerts from WD and this is first failed drive I got.

How did you feel paying to return a faulty drive? Didn't half annoy me.

i bought a recertified 1TB WD Hard disk. I used it twice, and it died bang on 12 months (edited)

Thanks, I even got a discount for being an old git.

    How? I'm old. Where's my discount. 👴

These are great on the PS5 to load up on PS4 games. I must have around 100 installed.

They took my money after 2 months... is this right?
    Avatar
Same thing happened to me. Weird.

Lot of storage for the price but hdd puts me off

What would the data transfer speeds be like comparing the USB 3 connection with a standard sata for a 5400rpm internal drive?

I'm in need of some storage and have a how swappable 3.5" Bay where I pop in a 2tb 3.5" drive to backup the data on my pc.

I could either get something like this and just go via USB or get a powered desktop drive and shuck it. Just wondering which would be my better option

So, I just spent 20 minutes in the WD on line chat, all solved, they have sent a ups return and a 15% voucher. I might try again hmmm I think !

So I went and did it again, I bought another one and used the discount voucher and got one for £42 I have lost so much over the last 36 years, my first pc was an amstrad with 2 big floppy drives, I think it was 36kb I must have binned 30 to 40 dead hard drive’s, some, my fault, while building and updating pc’s including 3 5TB drives, so much accounts data, videos and pictures lost, so I bought this one as a backup to my backups. I’m 60 and I had digital cameras when they first came out at a reasonable price, 1986 I think, so you can imagine how many photos I’ve taken, luckily I think I only lost 3 years of pictures and videos, they weren’t great years anyway so !!!. Let this be a lesson to you all, don’t buy cheap carp like me and lose it all lol Thanks Simon for posting it.
