MyGica EnjoyTV 510B Android Smart Tv (Install XBMC) £59.99 @ futeko

I was looking for an android smart TV now that XBMC Frodo Beta 2 is officially supported for android.

The main reason the Apple TV 2 is so expensive, is because you can install XBMC on it. However, now that XBMC can be installed on android. This seems like a great deal.

see xbmc.org/ for details of how to install XBMC

now £64.99 and has been for days

Ha.
Oh nice, might ditch my ATV3 for one of these if they can run XBMC now!
To be fair it isn't much cheaper than you can get the apple tv. Definitely want something like this but if tablets and phones can drop in price for the vast spec surely these should. You could get an android tablet for this price!

Apple TV 2 (The one that can install XBMC) go for well over £100, so it is A LOT cheaper actually.

Apple TV 3 are pretty much useless that is why they fall to £79 sometimes.

I am very tempted to get one of these, but I just bought and setup a Raspberry Pi, this looks so much nicer though...

Full setup cost without a remote for Raspberry Pi was £44, slightly cheaper ( Pi+Case+Wifi adapter+SD Card+Micro USB cable)

The cheapest used on Amazon market place is £130.70 amazon.co.uk/gp/…sed
I bought this a few weeks ago when it was £67.99. Hot fr the price but there are a few issues with this product. I found that it works fine generally but sluggish and unstable specially when you are trying to install new apps, also for some reason apps take very long time to download even though the wifi speed is great. A reboot is required after you have installed any app.

My wireless mouse works perfectly and it plays streaming or stored HD media fine but sometimes cannot handle web pages heavily loaded with flash ads. It also struggles to handle games like angry birds.

Device comes rooted so its a great plus.

In summary, if you want to use it primarily for media playback and general browsing then its just ok but you may be disappointed if you want to play games or anything more demanding.

I won similar on ebay last month, still aint arrived though!

I also notice an ebayer selling a 'little black box', which apparently does everything you could possibly want. A quick look at his previous sales seem to indicate he sells raspberry pies normally, so suspect he's just put one in a case and its going for £100 a time!

Uk sellers are selling this set with this remote for tenner more :

Insane how this is getting voted cold. Demonstrates the lack of knowledge on this site! And probably that people haven't even bothered looking at the specs or reading the description!

The futeko 510B is much more versatile than an Apple TV. It will play all HD video files, you can install any Android App, you can install Sopcast, you can install XBMC with hardware video decoding. All out of the box.

The Sumvision Nano above is a much inferior product, it just looks similar. It has less RAM, uses a slower chipset (CPU), is Android 2.3(?). And it's £10 more!

That is probably the remote then, seems to have become a standerd style for android remotes, as I have come across a lot that look like that.

Also while searching the term "Air Mouse" I found a ton of nice looking media centre remotes, been looking for a nice media centre remote for ages with no luck, seems they have termed media centre remotes "Air Mouse", I had no idea.

Check this before you buy … Check this before you buy :http://www.sum-vision.co.uk/productinfo/nano/nano.asp

Nice web page but full of misinformation. You should check the specs very very carefully on that Sumvision product.

That's enough from me!

Have a good Christmas.!

If you have this exact one, what is the remote like? I cannot find a picture of the remote anywhere. Yet it clearly states it comes with one in description. What I find odd id they sell one with a wireless mouse, which sort of makes me think the description is wrong and it does not have a remote after all,yet it has a IR port?
It comes with an IR remote.

http://www.futeko.com/productimages/MP00041-9.jpg

You can also use it with any RF wireless mouse, any RF wireless keyboard, any RF combined mouse/keyboard, or the Geniatech airmouse.

The airmouse is an OK way of control, but not the best. A conventional mouse is by far the best way to control any of these smart TV products.

Just saw the picture seconds before you posted, do not know how I missed it. Is a very nice remote.

I would disagree with conventional mouse being better. I hate having to use a mouse to control a TV. I much prefer a nice simple remote, and when using XBMC e.t.c there is zero need for a mouse.

I have just installed XBMC for android on my S3 and I am very impressed. It is much much quicker than my Raspberry Pi with Raspbmc.

I also have XBMC on my Apple TV2, Acer Revo, Ipad, the best of these i find to be my Revo, however, the scrolling speed on my phone seems to be just as quick.

I wonder if this would be the case with this device?

Remote image posted by brianbrain8861 above is correct, alternatively you can see this page for KR32 remote - this device is same as Geniatech ATV510 M3.

I had a spare wireless mouse which I prefer over the bundled remote.
The hardware inside an S3 will be a lot better than the hardware in this TBH. I'm waiting for a more powerful one before I commit real funds, there seems to be a quad core raspberry pi style device knocking about that may do the job (forgot its name though!). I tried XBMC on a few devices in July and wasn't massively impressed with the speed.

Saying that, the beta was released properly yesterday so maybe its worth another shot.
Just ordered this as I'm bored waiting for the Apple TV 3 jailbreak. Hope it's as good as it sounds!
Its kinda funny to see an apple product finally shunned because it can't be hacked, maybe they'll reassess their core market. When android is (usually) so open, people get used to expecting it. Of course at the same time some android phones are losing the SD card amongst other things, making them less open. Gits.
I just bought an emachines 1401 off ebay for £90 delivered. Much better value than this in my opinion. Much more versatile etc. I was looking into boxes like these beforehand so i could run xbmc, but found out that these are generally (at the minute) not all cracked up to what they are meant to be.
Quality, android for tv. Good idea.

The best way to control them is from a smartphone or tablet running the XBMC remote app.

(Maybe DNLA would be ok as well but I have not tested this).
If you want one of these to install XBMC on then don't bother, i just sent one back a couple of weeks ago as it will not play XBMC addons smoothly, navi-x icefilms etc. definately avoid. Also as a android box its very sluggish and had to factory reset on a daily basis. Piece of overpriced junk. Though there were no arguments with the refund, quickly and efficiently.

XBMC for Android (Beta 2) link for those wondering where to get it >

xbmc.org/nat…id/
Good product however if you're playing local media I wouldn't bother with XBMC , and if you're playing from another location I also wouldn't bother with XBMC, Plex is the best for that.
In all honesty these thing aren't there yet.

Better off sticking with an HTPC for now until the hardware gets abit better.

They will get there eventually and we can all thank M$ and Sony for dragging their heels for so long that devs are now focusing on this platform for now.

Android also needs to mature abit.

Do you think? The last time I installed the app on my iPad it kept the app running continuously and canned the battery. Have they sorted this now?

Can anyone comment on power consumption? That is why i was going with the Raspberry Pi as I could leave it on 24/7 at next to no cost.
Better off waiting for the dual-core versions to be released with XBMC support in a month or 2
Jetpac

isn't the a9 quad core? or are there different variants?
I believe there are different versions of the A9, and the ones in the new media players will be dual... I could be wrong though!
Either way they will be more powerful.
as soon as someone confirms xbmc runs bug free (and plays everything) I'm in, until then I'm keeping my ATV2.
