As well as seling your info, the information they give is probability based on the samples of people they have.
So it's best to go with the company that's collected the most samples.
Also it's still based on probabilities and no certain truths can be asserted from this information.

Smaller companies like this have little to offer.

Agreed i’ve always thought this and there are examples in America where the police force has used and collected dna samples from a number of these companies to update their database!

It is actually one of the larger laboratories in the USA with 105 million users and one of the most highly rated. Identification by DNA using criminal databases is based on the number in various known repeating sequences and always gives results in terms of probability. This is not the same type of analysis in that it looks for ethnic specific sequences.

My point was to be realistic in your expectations, YouTube has convinced people that this will unlock the key to your genetic heritage etc, when It won't. if anything it may confuse a person more.
Having realistic expectations is good.
I wouldn't bother. I was interested in these and was going to buy them as Xmas presents for my family. Then I read an Expose from a geneticist who said it was all nonsense. The most it can show is your genetic markers for certain conditions but even then it's no guarantee of anything.
The personal info they ask you to fill out is another matter. They use this with "Ancestry.com" and/or others and they estimate your 12% German and 20% Viking from their database based on the data you give them.
The majority of but not all African American/Euro have a nitric oxide deficiency. The majority but not all Anglo USA/Europeans have low melatonin and need sun block. These have genetic markers so they cross reference this with your name and pretend to give you a DNA profile and heratige. The worst ones clearly state they work in conjunction with "Ancestry" and get you to fill out their data as well and even charge you more for a "Complete Profile".

I wouldn't be surprised if they sell the data to Amazon in 10 years. Saying they found the genetic markers for power of suggestion / advertising. Even if it's nonsense.I would rather sped £200 quid and get one of those DNA paintings that look like a graphic equaliser.

Some companies even ask you to fill in a full questionnaire as part of making an account with them to retrieve the report. This is used to help make your own report .

You details are then added into Thier database to help identify others genetics ... As much as they can ....

But if you are a genealogist, or adopted, these tests can unlock brick walls. Yes, ethnicity and heath info is to be taken as very new and evolving technology, but the autosomal test for family research is absolutely sound, and a great tool to have for research. Please don't forget that there are positive, proven, real uses for these too. Thanks.

Agree, if adopted it can serve as a rough starting point.
