There are still reasons to want an mmp.

For example, I wouldnt want to take my phone to the beach while on holiday but still want to listen to music while relaxing or those in the military who arent allowed mobiles while deployed.
My Mahdi - The Mahdi is the supposed supreme leader that is to come at the end of time to impose true Islam upon the world according to some sections of that religion. Who in their right minds would name a music player this?
How do they get away with the £65 bit.

Fair enough, it wasn't a criticism of mp3 players just genuinely interested to know who still uses them, and now I know, thanks.
Way cheaper than buying a new iPhone if you are unlucky enough to be stuck with one
For this price, I would highly recommend one of these as an alternative:

amazon.co.uk/Blu…GAG

Supports lossless audio formats, great sound quality (I bought one for my wife for Christmas), has built-in Bluetooth and supports microSD in addition to built-in capacity. And it's tiny and easy to use, plus the battery lasts ages.

They do one with a smaller monochrome screen that is truly tiny, and has a longer lasting battery, but similar specs for the same price:

Bit of a daft comment. This music player is way cheaper than any smartphone, but after reading the specs, I didn't notice that you could phone, text or browse the internet on it.

My point was that you can't add a card to your iPhone when it is full. Yes everyone has a smartphone these days but if you have a large music collection but only a 16GB iPhone, it's not worth buying an iPhone with more memory. Also many people are stuck with basic phones with their jobs

Those two players seem to have a problem with the bluetooth if you read the reviews which is a bit of a shame.

Agreed.
zapals.com/mah…BwE Just searched Google for MYMAHDI 8GB Portable MP3 Player - Not sure if this is the same but there seems to be plenty of these called MAHDI at under £20 - upgradable to 128Gb

Because of the dedicated physical buttons MP3 players can be operated from the pocket without looking at them. They are not as bulky. Plus there is very little chance of accidentally phoning your sister in Australia
